Short Story: Bleeding Heart, Healing Oath

One fateful night, a gang of thugs stormed her clinic, demanding she heal their leader. With a heart full of compassion, she did as they asked and saved the man's life.
Grateful for her skill, the gang demanded her services more frequently, coercing her into treating their wounded. In time, she witnessed the horrors they inflicted, the crimes of the men she saved. Her hands, now stained with the blood of innocents, could no longer bring her joy.
Closing the eyes of a young girl caught in the gang's crossfire, the doctorโs heart shattered. She resolved to poison the next patient they brought her. But when the moment came, she found herself face-to-face with the gang leader once more. As he smiled, oblivious to her intent, she realized that she could not take a life entrusted to her. With a trembling hand, she saved him, sealing her fate as both a savior and a murderer.
