This felt like a GOT red wedding for us! We are not good guys! Love you all H & J ❤️❤️

Death Note ep 25-26 | OMG WHAT IS HAPPENING ! L IS DEAD?

Comments

I think in a way, L still won. Light didn’t know his name. At the end of the day, L was fighting fair but Light just having luck and Misa was ultimately what defeated L in this cat and mouse.

He has no eyes. No heart. No conscience. No hesitation. I was really offended when they likened Eren to Light. Villains do not care abt anyone else but themselves n that’s exactly who Light is. Poor L knows he’s gonna die soon. Poor baby. And REM! Omg. And Watsri! My fave. Justice for them!!!

By the way, you might already know this, but Mogi's voice actor is the same as Zoro's from One Piece.

Rem turned into sand, not Watari, because she saved Misa by killing L and Watari. 19:04 This is the scene that she is turning into sand. So, the notebook Light has taken from the sand is Rem's one.

Although the shock of L's disappearance is strong, you cannot stop and think about the genius writing of these episodes. The episode where L dies carries such a haunting weight. The rooftop exchange feels strangely calm, almost like a pause before something irreversible - even the music suddenly stopped to highlight the tension. Then the small act with the towel, blurs trust and rivalry in a way that lingers, and Misa’s presence dressed in black like a doll and singing adds an unsettling theatrical layer to the atmosphere. Every gesture and silence feels loaded with meaning, as if the story itself is holding its breath. Absolute cinema! 📽️❤️

Shocking episodes! Is L really dead?!? Where do we go from here? I asked myself the same questions on my first watch, like everyone else, so I think we all can relate to you, Jason! On another note (not a "death" one lol), Heather is correct! The manga and anime were banned in parts of China where a few kids started writing their own DN with students and teachers' names in them. Russia too partially banned it to avoid the younger audience getting into it. But hear this, in the USA, they attempted to ban the manga in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2010 but it was not approved, and copies remained available.

Such a turning point for the show! Loveee it, definitely one of the most bingeable anime. A couple of key things to keep in mind before the next episodes: 1. Both Watari and L are now dead. You can be sure of this because at the end of the episode, the Shinigami who cared for Misa, Rem, disintegrated into sand. That wasn’t Watari turning to dust, it was Rem sacrificing herself. 2. Remember: Light never knew L’s real name, which meant he couldn’t directly kill him with the Death Note. Instead, Light manipulated the situation. Because Rem, as a Shinigami, can always see people’s real names (regardless of aliases like “L”), she had the ability to kill him. 3. Light exploited Rem’s love for Misa. He deliberately pushed things so that L’s suspicions of Misa kept increasing, putting her life at risk. That forced Rem into a corner: the only way she could save Misa was to kill both L and Watari. 4. But according to Shinigami law, if a Shinigami kills a human to save someone they love, they themselves die. That’s why Rem turned into sand right after writing their names, she gave her own life to protect Misa. 5. Once Rem died, Light claimed Rem’s Death Note, gaining even more power in his plan. …Or MAYBE I made all of this up just now and L pulled a Christian Bale and is now in Italy sipping coffee and having croissants with Watari after faking his death lol 😎 Also as a side note: just to help you guys keep a track of the death notes right now, here is a bit of info! This anime is very information heavy that’s why a lot of people love to rewatch this anime because you pick up on a lot of things watching it a second time but here is the info: At this point in the story, there are four Death Notes total that made it into the human world: 1. Ryuk’s (the shinigami who loves apples 🍎) Death Note – Ryuk always keeps his own. He doesn’t hand it over to anyone permanently. 2. The Death Note Ryuk originally dropped – this is the one Light first picked up at the very beginning of the series. Light has been using this from the start. 3. Gelus’s Death Note – when the Shinigami Gelus died saving Misa, his death note passed on to Rem. Rem later gave this one to Misa, which is how she became the Second Kira. 4. Rem’s own Death Note – Rem already had her own personal death note as a Shinigami, separate from Gelus’s. So after the big turning point where Rem kills L and Watari and then dies herself, here’s where things stand: - Ryuk still has his own death note. - Light has his original one that was dropped from the sky by Ryuk (basically think of it as a spare death note) - Misa has Gelus’s death note (through Rem). - Light now also takes possession of Rem’s death note, since when a Shinigami dies, their Death Note remains. Soooo basically, right now, we have Light, who has two Death Notes in his possession (his original one + Rem’s), while Ryuk keeps his, and Misa has hers.
