Mythic 6.0 Final Beta Released (And XCOM 2!)

Mythic 6.0 is getting its Final Beta NOW. So, there is a lot to unpack here (and a lot to unpack in the ZIP folder, too). Let's cover everything that is included with the Mythic 6.0 Final Beta.

Now, first an important piece of information before most of you tap out and stop reading:

The download is at the bottom of this writeup for both Mythic 6.0 and XCOM 2's betas.

ALL OF YOUR LAST CALL BETA CHARACTERS ARE FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE FINAL BETA.

ALL OF YOUR FINAL BETA CHARACTERS WILL BE FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE FINAL RELEASE.

If you're wanting to know if it's safe to move over from your Mythic 4.0 and Mythic 5.0 games, the answer is yes. It is safe to start playing Mythic 6.0, the changes from here on are not going to be major. Everything from here on is going to be about cleanup and smoothing out the kinks.

Mythic 6.0

First is Mythic 6.0's Final Beta. This is your go-to for everything 100DOS, the new rulebook, the updated Mythic Halo experience, streamlining, everything you can hopefully ask for from the Halo universe. This is the last Beta before the final version is released. Due to the mind-boggling amount of changes from all of your feedback, we felt this was necessary to do.

Mythic Civilian Splatbook

This is the old commissioned civilian splatbook. It contains extra options for civilian character creation. Nothing has changed from this splatbook.

Mythic ONI Splatbook

This is the old commissioned ONI Splatbook. Some balancing changes were made to at least keep it usable with Mythic 6.0.

Mythic Skulls

Skulls is the new splatbook that adds all of the wacky modifiers from the games, and more. There are even rules for adding more Skulls as you go and the ability to roll on them. There are 100 modifiers, and each are tied to a die roll. This splatbook is out of beta and ready for release alongside Mythic 6.0's final release.

Mythic Warzone 2 Splatbook

This is the evolution of an old commissioned splatbook for Mythic 4.0. It used to be a splatbook that offered Halo 5's Warzone weapon variants to be purchased and used by players. Now it's a full-blown mostly canonical weapon customization system. You can build the Warzone variants, you can build brand new variants. It offers dozens of tools to make a weapon fully unique to you.

Cybernetics Splatbook

A commissioned, non-canonical cybernetics splatbook to expand on modifications players can make to their character's bodies.

So, what has changed between Mythic 6.0's Last Call Beta and this Final Beta? Well, for one, a name change that more or less means the same thing. I jumped the gun naming the previous beta "Last Call." Now let's just hope I didn't jump the gun naming this one "Final Beta."

Now, onto the changes. The biggest effort made between the Last Call beta and Final Beta was streamlining and simplification. A lot of old rules caused issues with new rules, a lot of old rules were more confusing, and a lot of new-ish rules weren't up-to-snuff after testing. There are over TWO pages of fixlist changes at 9pt font. It's honestly just too much to mention everything here.

So, the biggest changes are overhauling tons of rules like Evasion, Medical, Skills, tons of Abilities, weapon rules, special rules, vehicle rules, equipment, etc.

There are a bunch of new and missing weapons added.

There are a handful of missing vehicle variants added.

There is an expanded GM creation toolset for making missions, events, NPCs, and even planets.

There was a rework to make covenant naming scheme canonical. I included the known names and type-naming scheme. You should still be able to find what you're looking for.

Tons of special rules, damage effects, and special damage reworks. A lot has been made easier without changing what they were.

Tons of old rules were scooped out to have modernized versions of them. This includes rules that no longer were needed.

Just too much, honestly. Even with generalizing like this. So here, have the change log. This changelog covers ALL changes that have happened since Mythic 5.0's release.

DOWNLOAD MYTHIC 6.0 FINAL BETA

Now, for XCOM 2's Beta.

XCOM 2 is now fully in beta and on-par with Mythic 6.0's current build with this release. It has all of the content that I could fit in, and then some. This update also includes The Chosen and a new Utilities upgrade system for everyone to use. It's like how the game does Abilities, so now you can become stronger as you grow in Experience.

XCOM 2 is an expansion for Mythic, so you'll still need the Mythic handbook for the base rules. XCOM 2's handbook covers the extra Character Creation options, the Psionics, the Utilities, the weapon lists, and the Bestiary. Once a player builds a character, they're good to go with using the Mythic 6.0 handbook.

And finally. I am announcing that a Titanfall expansion, similar to the XCOM 2 expansion, is in the works.

Thank you all for your support. Without you all, this system could never have gotten this far. I can't wait to be able to make more content for everyone to enjoy, and I have more to come.
