⚙️Unity

Unity

Important Notes

  • It is recommended to setup your materials, textures, scenes, and animations OUTSIDE the "Dragon" folder. So, create your own personal folder and store all your customization files. This will allow you to add future updates to your project by DELETING (NOT REPLACING ON TOP) the "Dragon" folder and then import the new package without affecting your current setup.

  • You can duplicate the included Materials, move them to your personal folder and set them up with your Textures.

  • Do NOT unpack the Prefabs.

  • Some assets are expected to have clipping issues due to the new changes, use Shrink blendshapes if necessary.

Please, follow these steps to setup your Unity project:

  1. Create a new avatar project using Creator Companion for Unity 2022 (2022.3.22f1).

  2. Import VRCFury (1.970.0 or latest) and Poiyomi Toon Shader (9.0.57 or latest).

  3. Open your Unity project and import “Nardoragon Base” Unity Package.

  4. If you own the Expanded Version, go to the “Expanded Items” page, download “Nardoragon Expanded Items” Unity Package, and import it into your project.

  5. Go to the "Dragon/Prefabs" folder, drag and drop the prefabs of your choice into the Scene, then save your Scene into your personal folder OUTSIDE the "Dragon" one.

  • Please, make sure you use the Prefabs, and NOT the Meshes/FBX.

  • For Quest build, you can setup in the same project, but create a separate Scene from the PC version.

  • For Face Tracking:

Import Pawlygon's Face Tracking Template (https://vcc.pawlygon.net/).

Then drag and drop the "UE Face Tracking" Prefab (located inside the "Dragon/Prefabs" folder) into your avatar.

  • Self Boop Prefab:

This will allow you to boop yourself. Just drag and drop it into your avatar.

Keep in mind it adds a Contact Receiver component, which influences on the Performance Rank.

  • Belly Physbone Prefab:

This will give your belly Physbone (dynamic motion effect) when the Chumby slider is at least 50%.

It must be placed inside the "Physbones" GameObject, located within your avatar.

Then add "BellyRoot" bone to the "Root Transform" in the Physbone component.

Keep in mind adding a Physbone component influences on the Performance Rank.

🛠 Blender

Blender

Important Notes

If you plan on modifying the Mesh/FBX in Blender and replacing the one in the Unity project, please read these notes below.

  • The Blender version used on the project was 3.6.

  • Apply Scalings is set to “FBX Units Scale”.

  • Add Leaf Bones is unchecked.

  • All the meshes should be triangulated. Please check the Vertex Group for the selection of what type of Quad Method each face should be triangulated to.

  • If you are exporting the 5 Fingers Version, you must rename the Armature5F to “Armature” and Body5F to “Body” within its hierarchy, otherwise the avatar will not work properly!

  • The texture for the 5 Fingers Version is not imported to avoid conflict with material names.

🖌️ Substance Painter / PSD

Substance Painter / PSD

Important Notes

  • The Substance Painter version used on the project was 8.3.1 (2022).

  • The 5 Fingers version has modifications to the hands UV, within the "Body" material.

  • That means the textures made for the default version (4 Fingers) will not match with the 5 Fingers Version’s hands!

  • The Substance File has two body duplicates, in which one has 4 Fingers (Body) and the other one has 5 Fingers (Body5F). *

* This allows you to be more flexible in which version you want to use. That means you can work in one version, and if you change your mind and want to swap to the other one, you can just copy the layers from one, then paste on the other.

Keep in mind you would have to rework on the hands, since they have different UVs.

👓 Expanded Items

Expanded Items

Thank you for purchasing the Expanded Version!

If you wish to use the items that come with it, you must import the Unity Package below as well.

Once imported, you can drag and drop the Prefabs of your choice (located inside the "Expanded Items" folder) into your avatar.

  • If you are exporting the 5 Fingers Version Warmers, you must rename the ArmatureWarmers5F to “ArmatureWarmers” and Warmers5F to “Warmers” within its hierarchy, otherwise the asset will not work properly!

  • The texture for the 5 Fingers Version Warmers is not imported to avoid conflict with material names.

Legacy Weight Painting FBX (EXPERIMENTAL)

Use this to replace the current 3.1 version FBX to make your avatar compatible with some outdated assets.

Please keep in mind with these notes:

  • You must rename these files, by removing the " (Legacy Weight Painting)", so you can replace the FBX within your Unity Project.

  • This will NOT fix ALL the clipping issues. Please use Shrink blendshapes if necessary.

  • This will NOT fix the blendshape toggles, which means if you toggle any Thickness/Size blendshape, it will NOT adjust accordingly.

  • Breasts, Gluteus, Belly, and Toes bones will NOT work properly.

  • The 3.0 Version of the Expanded Items Clothing will have clipping issues.

  • You may have to remove the Physbone components from the Toes as outdated assets do not have them.

FBX Posed for Baking

Please keep in mind with these notes:

My Gratitude

Being an independent artist can be very complicated. Especially when living in a third world country with high taxes and corruption. The electronics I need for my work can cost more than double what they do in the US due to import costs. Not to mention the income tax, which has also been making it more difficult to live off my work.

Despite that, your support allows me to keep growing and bringing people more improved artworks that are filled with my genuine passion in art. It will always mean the world to me and will be very much appreciated!

Thank you very much! 💙
