I really had to rein myself in towards the end of last week, because I was going to film ep 2 of Kian's b&b but I forced myself to rest. It was a really exhausting week with my mum visiting, and while I love her, anyone who also has conservative asian parents will know how much of a mental load it can be to be around them. Especially when a lot of the reasons you're in therapy stem from them. So a lot of the time it means that they end up dumping a storm cloud back onto you when you've just felt like you're becoming dry.
I don't know who might be dealing with this as well lately, but I hope you're ok and that you can find ways to make sure you're prioritising your mental health. Being children of our parents we can't help but always have a part of us that subconsciously and automatically want our parents, love, acceptance or praise but when we only get negative comments or insensitive remarks, even when we think we have trained ourselves not to take any of that weight on board, it still stings.
Just know, you're not alone and it's a battle that isn't short or easy. But know I am along side with you and know you can get through it. Just knowing that we will always be more emotionally mature or evolved than our own parents sucks, but we can do our best to not become a mirror image of their mistakes and shortcomings. You got this! <3

no melbourne? T___T that sucks! I wish more groups were able to come to brisbane, the flights and hotels get so expensive, so for now even melbournians to travel is sucky. But I suppose who knows why they had to only pick 1 city.
