Patreon Changes + FAQ

Hi everyone, Rett here! With the release of v0.8.5 I've decided to change up a few things on this Patreon. First and foremost, the patreon-exclusive version of each update will be extended from 1 week to 1 major update. This means that v0.8.5 will be patreon exclusive until v0.9 releases, which means v0.8.5 will then turn into the public version and v0.9 will be patreon-exclusive until the next update comes out. This change does not affect any current patrons.

The reason for this change is because, for the amount of work I'm putting into each update, I want more income from it. Also, having extra funds to pay guest-writers/contributors is a contributing factor as well. Do remember that The Cave will always be free (eventually), and never fully paywalled.

Now, I've also been asked certain questions every now and then, so I decided to include some Frequently-Asked-Questions into this post too:

FAQ:
1. Can I become a guest-writer?

Potentially, yes! I'm always accepting folks that want to write their own scenes for their own character to be in The Cave, and I have yet to bar anyone from doing so. You will only be handling the writing-portion of the work, while I do the coding-work and sprite-work for you! Regardless, it will still be a lot of work, which is why I even offer compensation too! If you are interested, send me a DM through patreon, or add me on Discord. My discord name is "rett", without quotation marks.

2. What happened to the cameo and side-scene tiers?

I removed access to the other patreon tiers as they were not implemented well. I still want to have opportunities for people to be in the game, and I believe I've finally found a good system for it. I'll go into detail on that in Question 3.

3. Is there any other way my character could be added to The Cave?

Right this moment, no. Though I will be open for commissions, through google-forms, after v1.0 is released. I have a lot planned that I want to have in the game when 1.0 is out, so my schedule is sadly a little packed until then. Afterward, I will finally take commissions for folk to be added into the game! There will be various options to choose from, here is the pricing I am going with so far: $200 for each fully-interactive vore scene, $100 for each linear vore scene, $40 for a cameo, $25 for just an animated sprite of your character (All prices are in USD). Both fully-interactive and linear scenes include sprites. I'm taking feedback on the prices too, so do let me know if you believe they are fair or not.

4. Is there an official discord server?

No, there is no official Discord server... yet. If there is enough interest in one, I'd actually be down to make one! Expect to see a new poll in the near future, so I can gauge interest.

5. Are there any updates planned after v1.0?

Oh, absoLUTELY!! Not only do I plan to open for commissions after v1.0 is out, but I still have lots of my own personal projects I need to add too! After all, no one still knows what's behind the locked door in Rett's room...

Do not worry, I am not planning on stopping updates for The Cave anytime soon!
