With a small creak the wooden door of the Emmot household swung open, revealing the yawning young couple freshly dressed and ready to start the day. Walking towards the demi-human district of the town they are suddenly distracted by the sight of one of their neighbors, a retired adventurer, stomping the ground angrily with her boots a few steps out of her house. Glancing at each other confused, they wordlessly decide to check up on her.
Enri: "Um, Brita-san? Is something the matter?"
Brita: " Grr... Huh? Oh, I didn't notice you two, sorry. It's nothing really, but I woke up this morning with a bunch of ants crawling all over my house. They ran under the door when I started stomping on them, and they were still out here after I got dressed and left! I don't usually mess around with bugs but I don't want the little bastards coming back in while I'm gone, so I'm crushing as many as I can manage before I head out!"
Glancing down at the irate warriors feet they were both able to make out swarms of what seemed to be silver and tan ants, though they were a bit too small to make out. While hordes of the bugs were still alive and frantically scurrying away from their distracted executioner, the splattered remains of many of them could be seen scattering the dirt path and the many boot imprints that littered it. Many were near the young couples feet as well, and they could surmise that they had crushed some unknowingly just by arriving. While mildly curious at where such a massive colony had come from but with a busy day ahead, they wished Brita luck and went on their way.
While walking down the road once more the two noticed large gatherings of the insects spread out across the village, they had either surfaced from their hill or the two were simply more observant after having their attention brought to them. They also seemed oddly slow for insects, with many barely moving or moving lethargically as the couple walked towards them and falling prey to their uncaring shoes as a result. As the sight of insects failed to cease after minutes of walking, the two's expression began to turn worried.
Enri: They really are everywhere, how could the village get infested so suddenly? I hope they aren't the kind of insect that tears into crops, or we could have a real problem on our hands.
Nfirea: I know a few potions that can kill insects, but I don't think they would be very good for crops either. Maybe we should get Lupusregina-sama to ask Ainz-sama and see if he knows anyway to help?
Enri: I would hate to bother him with something so minute, especially now that he's a king! Before we talk to Lupusregina-sama we should spread the word around town to kill as many of these things as we can, that should slow down the spread of them at least.
Now diverting from their path to chat to any villagers they spotted, the two also started making an effort to squash the bugs in their way by speeding up their steps and aiming for any large clumps of them they spotted. Finally nearing their goal but a bit more tired than expected, the two rest against the wall for a moment. Curious and a bit bored, Enri lifts up her leg to get a look at the bottom of her shoe. The well worn-out sole was already battered and stained after years of use, with scraps of plants and dirt stuck to it from a life of walking down unpaved roads. But the usual grime one would expect to see on it is almost difficult to notice with the vast amount of gore now plastering its entire length. From the dark red stains of the blood that splattered from her weight to the mangled remains of some of her victims that managed to stick to the slick sole, flattened and stretched to the point that they are barely recognizable as living beings. Mildly surprised by the color but overshadowed with happiness at how many she was able to crush, Enri turned to her husband with a grin.
Enri: "I'm making good work of them on my part, let me see how you're faring!"
Nfirea: *Glancing at his wife's foot and feeling a bit uncomfortable with how proud she seems* "Um, I-I'm glad your so motivated about dealing with those things, but comparing the amount of them stuck under us m-might be a bit much don't you think?"
Enri: "Oh come on sweetie, it's just a bit of fun! It's not like the rest of them feel bad for them or anything... or are you telling me you're too grossed out by a couple squished bugs?"
Sighing, the young alchemist relented and copied his wife. Both of them looked down at the sole of his shoe, which was equally littered with crushed insects. Unlike Enri's however, some of his bugs were not quite flattened, and a few even seemed to be twitching with a tiny spark of life. Recognizing what the glance Enri shot at him meant Nfirea brought his foot back down, stomping and twisting it until he was satisfied that they would be finished off. With their odd competition completed the two moved on with their day, squishing hundreds of bugs as they went about their tasks. They spread the word about the infestation to the villagers though many had already taken notice, and came across Lupusregina playing with a group of them in one of the village's barns. She didn't mention them at all while speaking to the two of them, and they decided to leave the subject untouched.
After a long day of work and insectoid genocide the weary couple arrived back at home, sourly noting that the pests had spread across the interior of their house as well. A giggling Nemu was pacing the house in her socks, treating the insects as toys in a far less perverse ways than the lycanthrope maid had. Smiling at her sister and returning her greeting, a weary Enri finally kicked off her shoes and took a seat on the couch. Her husband joined her just as she was peeling her sweat soaked socks off of her feet, finally giving her aching soles the chance to breathe. After following her example Nfirea tenderly put his arm around her, both of them choosing to ignore for a moment the distinct tickling feeling coming from their now bare feet. After a few minutes of relaxing together, the two finally sighed in annoyance and got up from the couch. Enri began walking to the closet were they kept the broom, while Nfirea rummaged through his workbench before finding the magnifying glass he was looking for.
Nfirea: *Crouch down to get a better look at one of the strange bugs* "I'm not exactly an expert on insects, but knowing what species they are could help us figure out how to deal with them. Once I get a good enough look I can check the library at E-Rantel for some more informa...... Enri! Come look at this!"
Enri: *Surprised at his shocked tone, she walks over to him still holding the broom* "What's the matter? Did you recognize what they are after all..."
As her face went lax with shock her grip on the broom faltered as well, it falling to the floor with a clatter.
Enri: "Wha... How is this even possible!?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had started out as a fairly normal day in the Slane Theocracy. After morning prayer the nation's many legions were prepping themselves in their barracks, most unaware of the commotion taking place outside. The nation's citizens were clamoring prayers and throwing themselves down in worship to the skies, as the clouds above had eclipsed by a magic circle that stretched for miles. While the priests looked on in confusion the common folk thanked the gods for allowing them to bear witness to a miracle, and with the countries eyes either to the sky or ground it wasn't until the lightshow had ended that anyone noticed the disappearance of all the soldiers.
After a flash of light passed over their vision, the soldiers of the 8th battalion found themselves in a strange massive room. The boards beneath them couldn't have been cut from any tree they had ever witnessed, and the furniture they could make out in the distance looked too large for even a giant to make use of. While shocked at the bizarre scenario they had found them in, they were trained well enough not to panic. Not wanting to wait for whatever titan that called this place home to arrive, they began marching towards the door at a steady pace. Due to the vastness of their surroundings however their progress was agonizingly slow, and before they reached the exit the sound of booming footsteps reached them and the ground beneath them shook. Fearfully looking towards one of the interior doors of the house, the towering figure of a bleary eyed wheat skinned giantess emerged from within. Each slap of her bare feet against the wooden floor was akin to an earthquake to the horrified soldiers, and every last one of them froze in terror as her gaze landed on them and her movement stopped. A look of disgust passed over her features, and with what sounded like muttered curses she moved towards the soldiers with a hawk-like intent. Bathed in the killing intent of a being taller than a mountain, even the fanatics of the theocracy could no longer take courage in their gods. Breaking their ordered ranks the desperate rabble spread themselves out and sprinted with renewed energy for the door, each fervently ignoring the logic of how they were meant to reach it at their speed. The ones who lagged behind a bit found themselves suddenly engulfed in a massive shadow, and before they had a chance to scream in terror they were splattered against the hardened sole like overripe grapes. Glancing behind their shoulders the surviving soldier witnessed the gore-dotted foot rise and fall, twisting on the ground seemingly in an effort to remove what ever shred of dignity their corpses still held. With a methodical pace the silent titan would descend on cluster after cluster of the fleeing men, the gut-wrenching BOOMS followed by splats were grinding the terrified soldiers sanity even further. As the door finally seemed within reach the cruel giantess finally seemed to lose interest, walking towards the distant kitchen with the depressing remains of their brothers still plastered to her uncaring flesh.
Not trusting her retreat, the men still pushed themselves to reach the door as quickly as possible. As they finally crossed under it into the morning light, their surroundings shook them once more. More massive buildings could be seen in the distance, but more surprising were the towering stalks of grass that they could see nearby. Now confused on if the strange place they had arrive was a land of gods, or if they had somehow been shrunken, the men were also faced with the difficult choice of what to do now. Not only would reaching any of the other houses be difficult, it was doubtful that their occupants would be any less accommodating. The only other options was to flee into the grass, which would provide them visual cover at least but could hide any number of other threats. While more appealing than meeting another godlike titan, it also wouldn't help them in making it back to their homeland. Without any locals that they could communicate with, their prospects seemed bleak. While nervous about lingering in the open, they recognized that they had no energy to battle with anything lying wait in the grass, and chose to rest for a few minutes at least before venturing in.
Before their short break had ended however the towering door behind them suddenly swung open, revealing the tormentor they had wished never to see again. Looking far more awake and with her terrifying feet now clad in heavy boots, the tiny men didn't even need to see her expression change at the sight of them to know they needed to run. Thoughts of giant insects absent from their minds they frantically sprinted into the cover of the grass, not even turning to look at the fates of those unable to outrun the pounding stomps of the irate woman. Scattering amongst the vast forest of her lawn, the terrified soldiers watched in horror as the giantess stalked above them. Her steps alone were enough to slaughter them, but any movement the men took to try avoid her path would be spotted by her piercing gaze and brutalized by a flurry of angry stomping. As the relentless hunt continued, the sound of more massive footsteps rung out to the dismay of the cowering soldiers. Through the gaps in the grass above they were able to make out the towering figures of what looked like a young girl and boy, who they imagined had been called to join in the hunt. While not looking to the ground as the original giantess was, the two were still trampling many of the despondent soldiers merely by approaching. After nearing the hunting female however the two both stopped and made conversation with her, providing the men with both relief at the distraction they were causing and the depressing realization that the giants viewed them as simple insects. As the two new giants lumbered away, the soldiers nervously watched the familiar one resume her hunt.
Beyond the blood soaked blades of grass, the rest of the Slane Theocracy soldiers found themselves scattered across what seemed to be a massive country town. Their initial awe and confusion about their surrounding were quickly replaced with terror as the town's residents began leaving their homes and slaughtering the tiny soldiers with nothing but the soles of their shoes. While each of the townsfolk seemed to view the men as simple dirt beneath their feet, the young couple walking across the village quickly grew to be hated by all the Theocracy men who witnessed them. Not only did they seem to be squashing as many of the defenseless men as they could beneath their gore splattered feet, they also egged on any other giants they came upon to follow their lead. While both were a deadly force akin to gods the unlucky "bugs" who found themselves adorning their footwear found that the young female had a firm step unbecoming her age, while the young boy had a far more gentle weight. The difference made little difference towards the painful deaths the victims themselves endured, but their spectating comrades noticed it when flashing back to their near demise. The unlucky few who spectated their macabre counting of kills were disgusted to their core, but muttered their curses in their minds out of fear the cheerful monsters might hear them.
While their comrades outside were shooting hateful glares at a pair of lovebirds, the truly unfortunate gaggle of soldiers were suffering cruel and unusual forms of torture at the feet of what seemed to be a beautiful maid. Their distrust of her appearance stemmed more than just her size, as many refused to believe that a humanoid being could indulge in such monstrous revelry. As the day went on their tormentor humiliated, tortured and killed the pitiful men with every inch of her body in every way she could think of, before reviving them and doing it again. Briefly stopping to speak to the aforementioned couple, the sadistic lycanthrope then gave her victims a sliver of hope by muttering about needing to go. Once she saw relief pass their faces she coyly told them she would have to play with them later, letting out a satisfied moan at the horrified expressions her new toys had as she sucked them into her inventory.
Meanwhile at the Emmot household a large group of shrunken soldiers had rallied inside the large home, after watching its occupants leave that morning. While nervous about their eventual return, the men still took the time to explore their surroundings for supplies or clues on how they had ended up in such an incomprehensible nightmare. While some gigantic crumbs had been gathered as the sunlight began to fade from the window, no information had been learned by the time the front door shot open. Fearing glances were shot at the doorway in expectation of the couple they had spotted hours prior, but silhouetted against the sunset instead was the figure of a young girl who could be no more than ten. Cautiously optimistic at first at the sight of such an innocent albeit massive figure, their hope for peaceful communication passed as adorable giant kicked off her shoes, allowing a glance at the corpse splattered soles of them. The now socked feet of the young titan pounded quickly across the wooden floor, beelining towards the kitchen. Far too fast to avoid, the unlucky soldiers in her path found themselves either painted across the humble floor or resigned to a destiny of no more than a dark smudge on a schoolchild's woolen socks. The remaining soldiers began to darting for cover while the child was distracted with feeding herself, hoping to hideout the night until the houses residents left again.
After grabbing a quick snack, a bored Nemu began making way her towards the living room bookshelf for something to read while she waited for her sister to get back. Before reaching it however her eyes spotted a group of small bugs scurrying across the floor, and figuring they would be a better way to past the time started to chase after them. Giggling while chasing the bugs out in the open and smushing them underneath her, she also began shifting the furniture to reveal more bugs to play with.
From the soldiers perspective their view of the young girl had shifted to a maniacal demon in just a few minutes, the laughing monster's cuteness only adding insult to injury as her adorable feet and fluffy socks massacred the men like a raging dragon. On occasion she would detour from simple slaughter as well, slowly squeezing them until they popped between her toes, smothering them with little weight until they asphyxiated, dropping her small heinie onto them like a boulder from above, grinding or pinching them between her fingers, even grabbing a handful of them to swallow hole, seeming to enjoy the tingling feeling they made sliding down her throat. While the petite whirlwind of disaster was making her way through the house, only a few soldiers noticed the front door opening once more to usher in the awaited couple. Only glancing sweetly at the young terrors antics, the two took off their shoes and made for the couch. Seconds after their socks came off as well, presenting the soldiers cowering under the couch and a coffee table a close view of their massive, sweaty feet. While finding the notion of approaching the steamy soles grossly unappealing, the men had to bet on their final hope of getting their attention and praying they were more peaceful than their ward. Gagging at the smell of the towering feet, the men pushed through and slapping against them. They started with their hands and feet, but quickly began throwing themselves against the feet violently, some even clambering on top akin to true insects. While a few men were crushed with what seemed like natural shifting, the giants paid them no further notice. Unsure if they were unfelt or ignored, the men were suddenly sent flying as the couple rose from the couch moved separately across the house. Even more soldiers splattered underneath them as they walked, and the surviving men cursed their failure at establishing communication. But suddenly in the distance they heard the male shout excitedly to the female, and squinting towards him it looked like he was crouching down and observing some of their brethren. Their hope renewed, the desperate men hoped that their fellow soldiers would be able to convince the two giants to aid them...
