Solo Leveling Season 2 - Ep9 (EARLY UNCUT ACCESS)

Episode 9 | It Was All Worth It

Comments

Shunsui Kyoraku VA is her❤️

Sanji Sanji

sadly we missed out on the doctor scene lol, in the Manwha they're all like "whaaat? she cant leave we have to study her" until they find out she was with jinwoo

Leo Carbajal

Yes, precisely. We saw the three of them fight the ants in Ep1 S1.

Lucia Petrozzi

(none of this spoilers, it's just added context for the burn Scene. ) IM PUNCHING AIR RIGHT NOW, this scene and backstory i have being waiting for since we first saw Jinwoo's Mom as i Saw the burn scars Immediately on Episode 1 and remember the reason for it, i've caught a few other reactors comment on the scars when she was laying in bed before off-handedly during episodes so i have being waiting so long for this Vulnerable and backstory moment from Jinwoo's Recollection. Burn Story in the lines. --------------- Jinwoo's Mom Park Kyunghye Used to Bathe Jinah on the stool washing and rinsing her Daughters hair from a pot of water, Jinwoo wanted to do something good for his Mom (i think he was ~12yr at the time) and do the same for her as she does for Jinah so he went to boil water to get it warm for his mom and do the same. Jinwoo at that age didn't realise that his Mom let the water Cooldown, he poured the pot of boiling water to rinse her hair but got scared at her flinching letting the heavy Pot spill all the water out at once. Jinwoo was Scared at hurting his mom and was anticipating her rage, Park Kyunghye Immediately turned around and hugged Jinwoo and kept asking him if he was alright checking to see if he got burned at all. (this might vary depending on the WN/Manwha as The audiobook did a great job seering this into my memories.) --------------------------- I was left with Soo much disappointment at how they didn't expand on it further as it was very much a divining factor on how he grew up and who he is, Mistakes aren't the end of the world and even if your mistakes led to injury and hurt theres still people who loved him and would forgive him. i really believed they missed the ball on that one, however i can't complain Too much im just venting really as A-1 is doing a masterful job so far cramming 2-3 Arc's per season so far. Okay, Vent over. Edit: I should mention that i don't remember the backstory from the Manwha, i listened to the Audiobook first, so im not sure how they did it for the Webnovel and icr the Manwha, i just know they don't expand on this further.

Jason Buckley

Flexie, I cant be the only one that had "Apothecary diaries" feelings when watching Jinwoo's reuinion scene with him mom... from the music to the washed out moonlight setting and animation... i can't be the only one right?

Cyber

1st season 1st episode, the green clothed healer is this guy, EunSeok who died was the electric claw guy fighting alongside Baek

Dexter Chia

I really hope he goes on this mission,or I fear we may get a Spiderman origin moment.

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

As a 40ish year old who played a ton of fantasy games growing up I look at it like this : Dragon - 4 legs with wings, Wyvern - 2 back legs with wings, Wyrm - No legs with or without wings and Drake - 4 legs with no wing. All Are giant reptiles.

Richard B.

Hahaha, but seriously. It's not a dragon. Dragon have 4 legs. This thing has 2, so It's a wyvren. Those are the anime rules

JAMES D'ALESSANDRO

This episode/part of the Manwha is the last time Esil is seen. There is a fan theory that she is already dead and that Esil and everything and everyone he encountered in that dungeon was just a recreation. People think that it all was just a simulation created by the system. But none of that has been confirmed.

Andy Hinton

Very nitpicky and I didn’t really care about it either just something I think a lot of people didn’t understand and r now calling a “plot hole” or a “plot armor win” simply cuz the anime left it out.

RedEyeItachi

Hey Flexi you should checkout Dub English Jinwoo when the season ends just like you did with Dan Dan Dan. Just for good entertainment.

STEVE

Agreed. Chopping it up like that felt really jarring and unnecessary.

Mune Yotsuki

the difference between the manwha and this was crazy. in the manwha, just a single tear. here, the went all out and made this so emotional, + Hiroyuki Sawano OST hits every time

raikirrii .

i cant help but think there are a lot of parallels to parasyte in this episode, to the point where i think it might be some kind of reference. the scald mark, and jinwoo regaining his mother, while shinichi from parasyte lost her. some food for thought!

spectral.mozzarella

You gotta give the VAs so much credit. They capture such emotion and feeling when they're just trapped in a sound studio somewhere. When you're actually acting, with other actors in a scene it's easy to draw on the emotional depth of the scene. The fact these people can just summon that is mind boggling.

Alex Hencher

1000% this anime has done a good job of taking scenes like that and giving them the tlc they needed for the adaptation

Alex Hencher

My only major complaint is we see less of the shadow soldiers personalities. They're the best part of the humor in the manhwa. I haven't gotten there in the books yet, but I hope it's the same there. Iron and the boys are so funny.

Alex Hencher

Jinwoo out here making everyone moist again....but this time its different 😭

Travis Pike

It might be worthwhile to rewatch the first couple minutes of episode 1, just as a recap. You see the healer guy, and Baek and his friend, the one that died. He was the cool lightning dude with the claws. Everyone lost friends during the Jeju raids, Chong in particular is literally haunted by nightmares of his failures there. Pretty sure it's the only dungeon break to never actually get sealed away.

Alex Hencher

So because it is a Korean name the W is silent and that's why it sounds like Jinoo. The English VA for Jinwoo did a video explaining that's why he pronounces it that way in the dub so I assume the Japanese VAs are doing the same

Makit

He is using chakra to keep his feet on the dragon lol

Kou Vang

And that's exactly why I caved and ended up reading the novel.

Arjav Sharma

yeah I wasnt tripping giving how beautiful the fight was. It’s pretty much just nitpick at this point

Mesha

They cut almost 40 panels in the last episode before this one. I agree it’s nothing really important but it’s far more than 2 pages. One important thing they cut was explaining how he beat him by saving skill points for emergencies which is how he increased his strength in order to rip off his arms.

RedEyeItachi

This is y the community calls him Sung Dripwoo instead of jinwoo. Bro is just a walking Aura farm

RedEyeItachi

Mom wakes up and IMMEDIATLY clocks that he has gone through so much and is in so much pain. A Mother knows...

William Roberts

The S rank healer Byungu is Itadori's VA from JJK

Seal Oppa

Exactlyyyy

Mesha

I’m currently rereading the manwha and trust me this is a fast paced series, everything that’s been cut has been info no more that two pages long. A lil upsetting but nun crazy. Not every scene has to take the whole episode and be filled with unnecessary call backs so I’m happy solo has its own pace

Mesha

They really didn’t cut out a lot big dawg

Mesha

Always funny how you get suprised by the ending of those episodes :-D

stuhlpenner

The Ma guy kinda sounds like Kyouraku’s VA

Eli Gamarra

As cool as his fight was with Baron, I feel like that fight was too long while his time healing his mother was too short. After reflecting in the baron fight, if it wasn't going to push him as far as the first boss, Cerberus did, then it didn't need to take as much time as it did. These episodes also feel like they're 5 minutes long so what do I know? lol I don't know, I felt more hype over his fight with Tusk then Baron cause the build up was there, stuck in a dungeon with no escape and enemies way stronger then the party can handle, compared to struggling with Cerberus to bulldozing his way through 100 floors to get to Baron. 10/10 show, I'm just drunk nitpicking at this point. lol

Dean Morton

As a manwa reader I do agree with you

Maya Coleman

You know it is a good day whenever flexie uploads a video ❤️

Maya Coleman

I do recommend checking out Aninews' cut content videos, he keeps to the specific episodes and has has warnings and timestamps for any minor spoilers that may come up, which doesn't generally happen to often, it fleshes out each scene with more information, no need to react to it, but it will add context for people who have no intention of reading the manwha or the WN

Davram

Manhwa lover and WN reader here and I so agree with you on this part

Davram

I agree with your criticisms of the pacing. I feel like season 2 in particular after like ep 2 has just been rushing through the story for the sole purpose of making sure we get to jeju this season. There was plenty of content they cut from the source to fill out the full season. When it was announced, I was fully expecting this season to end with his mom waking up.

Jeff

Just so you know, and this is spoiler-free so you're safe anime-only peeps. The manhwa had 5 panels for that emotional scene. That's all. In my humble opinion, sorry manhwa bros, but this was the far superior way to experience that scene. It showcases his relief and happiness that all the suffering, the pain, the betrayal, and anger at what he had to do to survive. All of it was finally worth it, for this simple reunion with mama and giving Jinah back her mother.

Kurohime

Always so hyped to see your Solo leveling videos!

HollowedSlayer

Midnight? Oh no and I'm drinking F I feel flexie will make me cry from this

Bboyblock .

I love getting to see the softer side of Jinwoo! Real men cry too 🥲

Daniel Lee

YAY

Brady Parker

I really couldn't handle seeing Jinwoo like this... his shaking hands, the VAs shaking voice, and all the tears. Omg.... But what a stunning moment, and another great episode.

Jessica McCann

Been waiting for this😁
