One thing I would like to point out is that when Zoro was defeated, Luffy threw himself immediately towards Mihawk leaving his straw hat behind which is the most importantly thing to him. Luffy is so worry about Zoro in that moment that he even forgets about his straw hat. I think it’s such a small and yet important moment for Luffy, shows how much he cares about Zoro and how much he means to him. Bbf goals😭

To make a Naruto analogy, Zoro fighting Mihawk is essentially like beginning of series Naruto trying to fight Pain lol. It is kinda shocking considering how strong Zoro has been shown to be so far, but it's also a great and early peek at what the heavy hitters of the One Piece world are capable of.

one think that i want to mention is look how Krieg went with all his fleet of 50 ships to the grand line and only able to survived for 7 days and now Mihawk showed up with only a small coffin like boat. that actually show their power level quite clearly.

A LOT can happen in the span of 7 chronological days in One Piece, or anime in general, but to avoid any potential spoilers I'll let you know when "Day 7" of the Strawhats journey into the Grand Line is when we get there so we can compare how Luffy and crew hold up compared to Krieg's fleet. Objectively, we can't really blame Krieg for scoffing at Luffy's ambitions. Krieg just barged into the restaurant and suddenly a kid in an apron from the back's like "No, I'M GONNA BE KING OF THE PIRATES!" We, the viewers, know the level of strength Luffy has but in Krieg's eyes he's just a restaurant staff that claims to have 5 crew members.

And here comes Mihawk, one of the big shots in the entire series ! Btw, I love how Luffy holds back Johnny and Yosaku to keep them from interfering in Zoro's fight. Luffy respects his crewmates' decisions and choices and doesn’t want anything to get in the way of their dreams.

I love seeing the relationship between the crew members. Seeing them interact and be goofy with each other or see the, have each others back is one of my favorite aspects of One Piece. The crew truly feels like they are family and I feel like I don’t often see that in shows sometimes. Obviously, They do it in other shows with with multiple main characters you see them interact and bond but, Personally, The way it is written and done in One Piece I just enjoy the most. Oda is really good at showing the heart of a character and making it feel real and showing that bond.

The reason the grand line is such a dangerous hellish place is part of the chaotic natural disasters the environment throws at the pirates, other half of the reason is the powerhouses of the world who have made a living in the grand line with hawk-eye Mihawk as the perfect example. They have made a living in the grand line and are so powerful, ordinary pirates like Kreig are powerless in their presence

This is one of my favorite tricks Oda uses. You think you see how the story will go after 3ish arcs and all the dominoes are set up and then he sends a marble in knocking everything over. And mihawk is so freaking cool!
