Also ,I have to say, that little visual of Light running past his former self holding the notebook for the first time.... Gets me every time. One of my favorite shots of the entire series.

2025-04-18 03:54:11 +0000 UTCOne of the painful things I never see people bring up is that at the beginning of the series we learn that anyone who uses the Death Note cannot go to Heaven or Hell. Light let L test the book, let Takada use the book, and stood by as numerous others did. Light's father was spared because despite doing the eye deal he never wrote in the notebook. Light always believed the work on earth he was doing was worth more than his own afterlife but he let so many fall into the same fate, but was he wrong? Dozens of violent criminals died to stop world war and slow crime by 70% its a strange dilema.
