Fun fact, the arrangement for this song was done by Yoko Kanno, and the instrumentation was performed by The Seatbelts--the same team that did the Cowboy Bebop OST and OP! , they're legends Regarding the tea - At that time,I just realized this after seeing the op a few times now - I actually think it represents the family trying to maintain a normal life. Tea time being a staple for "upper-crust, middle- to high-class society in many cultures. The Forgers are just tying to have a quiet, simple tea time, but all the wild, ridiculous insanity of cold war spy life (skydiving, submarines, etc) keeps getting in the damn way 😅 As for the ending song,I must say. If you want to feel this song correctly, you must refer to the official MV of this song, because it is very good. The content of this MV is a short film (5 minutes), shot with mono-tone ( black/white) to enhance the cinematic quality, with the participation of famous Japanese actress Nagasawa Masami. The song is about the feeling of the MV main character- a female assassin who boards a cruise ship with the mission of destroying the target, a mafia boss, according to orders. According to the plan, she would board the cruise as a passenger, then assassinate the singer in the band on the cruise to impersonate that position to destroy the target. The problem is that during the mission, she fell in love with a guy who is the number 2 of the enemy organization, also on the list to destroy. In the end, after tormenting between duty and love, the female assassin still decided not to kill the target, the person she loved (song ending やっぱりやめとくわ), but would stay and die with him in the crime bombing to pretend to be a boat accident. Thus both duty and love are "complete".
