It’s almost like the wild episodes in the desert have you second guessing what layers are real about what characters Great reaction I’m so hyped for you to get even more into this saga as the info comes in!

"Sagi" means "heron" but is also a homonym for "scam/con" and "waru" means "bad" so the bird is literally both a "bad heron" and a "bad scam." Also, I really like that King Cobra allowed Koza to speak freely to him on the throne. Yes, Toto should have kept him in check to not insult or offend the king, but it speaks volumes on how much he cares for the citizens of his kingdom. The anime team really diced up this portion of Alabasta which I'm sure has to do with their decision to add Ace into the crew for longer than the manga plus the anime original they inserted because, canonically, this is where we were supposed to first meet Lashes. And because Chopper didn't meet Lashes until now, that short scene with Koza actually doesn't appear until after Vivi and Koza's flashback episode. For the record, I'm not saying this to be a manga fundamentalist or filler hater. Just pointing out the differences as a point of reference as it could be beneficial to understand some of the context. Personally, I actually really like that we're getting more Ace in the anime than we did in the manga.

2025-08-02 03:08:35 +0000 UTCIt’s a small moment but when Zoro cut the dung he quickly took the sand pirates swords to do it, even though it’s filler it’s nice to see that they kept consistent with Zoro’s care to his swords. Also really loving your reactions, your attention to details to these “slower” episodes are amazing, these episodes are so important for the characterizations and it just make you love the characters more and more.

Zoro called Nami a small fry, because he thought she did not kill Usopp. Sanji was utterly upset that Zoro thought Nami had small breasts, so he tried to hit Zoro but hilariously kicked a running Usopp instead.

It is interesting that the music score used in one piece grows so much on someone over the journey that the music itself induces the emotions it complements in specific scenes the longer you travel with our characters. "Sad Piano" anyone?
