One of the greatest strengths of One Piece compared to many other shounen imo is that it lets characters be important in ways other than fighting. It lets weak characters win in their own ways, it lets characters like Vivi be the emotion core for an arc, it lets characters like Koza, who are being misled, be sympathetic instead of annoying, and it lets people like Kobra, who are neither strong nor the main emotional core of an arc, come off as important and reliable. And I think that makes One Piece really wonderful for a supposedly fighting-focused anime

It was to crush an armory ship full of weapons into the city, so the rebel army has enough weapons to equip their vast numbers and won't have to use pitchforks against the well armed royal army. Crocodile wants maximum havoc. It's ok, the subtitles are sometimes hard to catch.😉

Also the reason why Mr 1 and Ms double finger drop the massive ship is to provide weapons for the Rebel army since they are short on weapons this whole time to start a rebellion. Also want to add that it’s okay to miss small details especially this is your first time watching, there are simply too many things happening and there are too many small details to notice. You already doing so much better than my first watch through 😂 . Really appreciate that you go back and rewatch scenes to understand more so you can be more immersive with the story, one of most enjoyable and hard working reactors out there 👍

Second, even if in a real scenario, they chose to go somewhere else. The stupidity of Luffy would have split the crew anyways there’s no guarantee that they would even meet Koza. In any case what if Alvidas crew never found the barrel where Luffy was hiding in? End of one Piece. See where this is going?

Since Sanji spent most of his life on Baratie, he's never had to use a mini-transponder snail which is why he wasn't confident if it was working when he called. Sanji is the crew's Chief Strategist. Unlike Luffy and Zoro, Sanji is well aware that you need more than just brute force to get out of a dire situation. He's the one that's usually two steps ahead of his opponents. One part that's "lost in translation" is when the kid gets beaten up by Mr. 1 and Ms. Double Finger and one of the revolutionary officers approaches him to ask if the royal army had done it to him, the kid says "Chiga..." but couldn't physically say anything beyond that and we hear his inner thoughts. He wanted to say "Chigau" which means "You're wrong", but it gets wrongly interpreted as "Chi ga...." which means "The blood" which then prompts the revolutionaries to rush to get him treated.

This show is the ultimate entertainment out there and just thinking about all that is waiting ahead for you up to the moment where manga is right now... you have no idea how amazing this ride is going to be! He knew that Luffy and the others went in a while ago, and the whole building hadn't been demolished yet, so Luffy's probably immobilized again, meaning that it's time to use the brain instead of just rushing in.

Crocodile delivers his lines so perfectly arrogant and with the necessary sarcasm and contempt that he shines as a great villian. "Protect Alabasta" " The Love for the County will destroy it" ... great stuff. Also Vivi has great moment of voice acting, Her screams of despair (last batch, Pell) and also in the scene displaying her princess aura when requesting answers from Crocodile (10:15) are great moments for me.

Because while he was fed up and ready to fight the King over his "apparent incompetency" to solve issues , you can feel that he still believed him as still being the King he knew from his childhood. A stranger instead, as the leader, would have called for all out war earlier

They did not originally have enough weapons, and one of the rebels told Koza that it was a warship and that there were weapons on it, to which Koza replied that it was a sign.
