The amount of times you paused, rewound, and kept discussing things was like you were trying everything you could to deny going through that again while your emotions were so raw.

Sasuke: "This place... sure has changed a lot too." Since this is after the leaf has been rebuilt but the subtext is definitely there. Sasuke has changed a lot at this point, while Naruto was the same at the start of Shippuden. Also Sasuke is shown at nighttime, showing his dark mental state, while Naruto was shown in bright daylight. Also also, at least in the manga, Naruto looks from the right to the village while Sasuke looks from the left. Kishimoto is god-tier when it comes to visual story telling.

Its proof that their life had meaning. Whereas in a dream world there would be no suffering to give meaning to the world. As it is said, ninja are those who endure. Yall think you know how to analyze narratives but completely ignore what is literally said in the story almost verbatim. These are the kinds of "rules" good authors go by, not what the reader expects or doesn't expect, likes or doesn't like. And they CERTAINLY do not write based on power scaling.

Just to affect the viewer, but it's actually a death out of nowhere.

Shikamaru & Ino get no time to even shed a tear for their fathers. No one gets to really mourn Neji, not to mention the unfathomable guilt Hinata’s dad must feel that he let down his dead brother by not taking care of what he left behind.

2025-08-29 14:17:27 +0000 UTCthis shit was intense, Obito really went hard on trying to hurt Naruto and convert him, this definitely made us feel the brutality of war :P big respect to the people at the HQ for giving it their all till the very end, RIP to Shikaku, Inoichi, Ao, Mabui and everyone there, they will be remembered as heroes of the war...now the old Ino-Shika-Cho is down to a single member :/ Neji then with the ultimate sacrifice protecting the two people most precious to him, he really died so that we would have a chance to still win this war, now he is free :) the back and forth between Naruto and Obito here is great :) dope way to honor Neji as well by attacking in the bird shape :D nice parallel between Sasuke returning to the village and Naruto from the first episode :) Itachi mentioned the Nakano Shrine to Sasuke back in the OG :) dont know if you remember but after the Sannin battle in the OG when Orochimaru was leaving he told Tsunade that even if she wont help him with his arms there is still another way, guess this is it :) the 4 Hokage coming back is pure hype :D I was always most interested in the 2nd Hokage ngl he always seemed the coolest and the most mysterious :)

The Izanami is a genjutsu that is cast via physical senses and can't be undone until you accept yourself & the situation you've put yourself in. Once we saw the izanami was cast and Kabuto was standing frozen in place, then Itachi was no longer involved in the loop going on inside Kabuto's mind. Until Kabuto literally gets his shit together, then he will remain stuck inside his mind in the izanmi loop.

And at first this name seems kind of stupid, until you realize, "Neji" means "screw". And suddenly, Boruto's name not only makes more sense, but it gains a LOT more emotional weight.
