Gachiakuta - S1 EPISODE 12 (EARLY UNCUT ACCESS)

Comments

So there's a lot of people (not including Flexie here) being weird about Amo getting an ass whooping after just trying to kill a whole bunch of people and then gleefully laughing at their 'dead' bodies. I'll just come out and say it: most of 'em only defend her because she's a girl. Ironically, this view is the very thing this show just rejected as horribly unjust. The reality is that attempted mass murder without a shred of remorse deserves much more than just getting beat up once. Now, that being said, I agree this was kind of a nasty scene. Not because Amo got beat up, but because Rudo clearly lost control. He is written as a flawed character with a whole bunch of trauma and demons to fight. So it's sad and shocking to see him lose control over his mind and emotions like that. So no, don't feel bad for Amo. She got away with her actions very easily. Rest assured, the next episode will give you plenty of reasons to feel bad for her. This is the episode to feel bad for Rudo who just almost got killed, was forced to relive his past trauma, and was pushed over the edge of what he could emotionally handle.

I love this show so much. This was the point in the manga that I knew, knew this was something special. Kei Urana made Rudo a very flawed character, who does not always do the right thing. Seeing her fantastic writing in the anime just makes it even better. We realize at the end of this episode and even more so after the next one... Rudo and Amo are children who have both lived through a ton of trauma and need help and guidance.

My guy Rudo snapped and said "Equal Rights, Equal Lefts"

Just officially joined so I could see your Gachiakuta reactions. Thank you for the amazing time!

Yeah, but Amo is not Jabber. She's clearly a bit crazy, and she did attack them, but only because they kept provoking her. They came to her because they wanted something, and she invited them into her house and then all she asked in return was that they *chat* with her for a bit. And instead of indulging her, they were like "We really just want to get what we came for" and pissed her off. And so, yeah--she attacked them. Though I'd note that even then, she kept asking "Have you had enough? Are you ready to talk to me?" But they just kept fighting back, culminating with Rudo's attack, which is where I think they all started to realize that they had gone way too far. So, yeah. I mostly spent this episode feeling bad for Amo, the mentally unstable girl who lives by herself in the wasteland, smelling her stinky boots and wishing she had someone to talk to.

Season 1 will contain 24 episodes, so it's going to be a good one. My personal favorite characters are Zanka & Tamsy.

If Amo was Jabber, no one would care that Rudo kept hitting. She nearly killed all of them.

I've mostly only seen people cheer for the first punch, but then freak out over all of the other hits. The scene is really trying to show just how much farther Rudo is taking things than anyone should be willing to be okay with. It's wild there's people who cheer for the entire beatdown.

thank you SO MUCH for being reasonable about the amo and rudo scene. As a manga reader, I was dreading the reactions people would have to this episode since I knew a lot of people were going to cheer and be excited for rudo beating the shit out of amo. Unfortunately I was right to be scared bc a lot of reactors reacted that way. I completely understand why rudo did what he did, but that doesn't mean it was justified. as like gris and enjin said, they already knew how to combat amo's ability at that point, and she was essentially rendered powerless at that moment. so beating her so severely just was not needed. Also, Rudo himself hated that he did what he did after the fact, calling himself a "shitty little brat." The anime clearly shows that what Rudo did was not the right move and yet people still want to act obtuse and argue that it was fine that he beat her half to death. I'm not saying Amo didn't deserve any kind of punishment though. I would have been fine with one or two hits, but Rudo took it way too far. Thank you for being reasonable about that scene and not cheering for it even though you understood why he lost control. Your maturity when it comes to this kind of thing is one of the reasons I support you! 🫢 Also Tamsy is my favorite character in the series, so I'm glad you are enjoying his character !! btw just a warning for next episode: you might need tissues πŸ˜€ it's going to deal with some pretty heavy stuff

Chlo

My theory is that he will destroy the sphere (world of the people above) and everybody has to live on ground. And that this is planed from his father and adoptive father together.

Rudo's hands are rated E for everyone

Enjin acting like a mentor is really nice as a moment. I've seen a lot of people go at it with different takeaways from how justified or unjustified Rudo's actions are given what Amo did and how much of a threat she was, but I don't really see people comment on the fact he did it out of anger and not her being a threat in the moment. Rudo's development as a character is really solid throughout the series because he's a protagonist with very visible issues from the beginning, and how he develops and tries so hard to get over these things really shows off how good of a character he is.

I was thinking of watching this after catching up on your 86 series. How are you finding it so far? I've heard good things!

Mitch

I love how Zanka and ALL of the people watching had that same reaction because we ALL forgot lol! You, me, pretty much every reactor that I've seen watch this part. It got us all!
