SpyxFamily SEASON 3 | Episode 2 (EARLY UNCUT ACCESS)

Episode 2 | Avoid Getting Tonitrus Bolts/****'s Memories

Comments

That 10 dalc he stole from his dad just saved his life. I think dad would be happy about it in the end.

Alex Hencher

anya actually already had a tonitrus bolt from when she punched damien and nah they dont cancel eachother out so shes got 2 tonitrus bolts now (yikes) and 1 stella she needs 7 more stella to become an imperial scholar iirc and if she gets 6 more tonitrus bolts then she'll be expelled

I imagine we'll flip back and forth in ####'s story every time he gets knocked out. The young boy got hit by a brick and probably got knocked out, so the next episode will probably be back in present time. I noticed that "What?" is his last thought when he collapsed and when he got hit with the brick.

Soloydiver

I'd say be prepared for a lot of episodes.

Andrew Diseker

I'm pretty sure his father fought in the previous war, which ended with the peace agreement that was mentioned, which he obviously hoped would prevent a new war.

Andrew Diseker

Did you notice where that first bomb hit? Rewatch real quick if you didn’t.

CallMeTony

Same here. It must be human nature. All the boys in the neighborhood played war and soldier. And this was while Vietnam was going on. We had no concept of the horror of actual war, but my father did, (WWII combat Vet). He hated the games we played. When, years later, I was a senior in high school and talked to an Army recruiter about enlisting, my father literally kicked my ass. Of course, being young and knowing everything, (I thought), I joined anyway.🙄 Live and learn. By the way, I'm glad to see someone else around my age enjoying anime!👍

Buzzard

Loid's "codename" as a child was because the kids were playing "war" because there was a previous war, and they had seen how soldiers act. At least that's how we played whin I was Loid's age, back in the early 60's.

Andrew Diseker

The OP theme starts out with military-sounding drums, like a march. And I think the "x" in the title is hanging like Anya being carried by Loid and Yor, and also like the ropes on a child's swing.

Andrew Diseker

Complete speculation, but I think Loid probably does remember all of his childhood. We've seen before that his hatred for the horrors of war is what drove him to be a spy; that doesn't really work if he doesn't remember his past and the war, though.

Benjamin Sones

I just noticed after rewatching: The screeching of the eagle is followed by the screeching of the bomb falling. It very eerie and creative how they combined those sounds.

You have a point. In the manga I think kid Loid used a more serious term to refer to the people of Ostania as well. I think he called them “Demons” or “Pigs of the east” something like that. The fact that his father instilled in Loid the idea of not judging others and Loid was actually willing to tell the truth and pay him back the money tells me he did respect his father to some degree despite his flaws.

S

In 2022, I got both Loid's backstory and the anime for the first time. 3 years later, we're now moments away from seeing the anime adapt this amazing and sad story. This episode and the next one will no longer be SPY x FAMILY, but SAD X FAMILY😭 Also I appreciate how this episode showed us every generation's stance on war. Kids like Loid are too innocuous and glorify war by thinking of it as a grand expedition to defeat 'bad guys' whilst the people in actual danger of conscription, the people experienced enough to fear war, like his dad, want to avoid it any cost. Meanwhile people like that hateful old man are willing to escalate things because his life isn't on the line! He's egging these kids on to fight on his behalf while sitting on his crusty ass all day. His dad should've taught him that lesson without the slap but it was important nonetheless BTW:Another perfect ED for Spy x Family! Lilas Ikuta's vocals are just stunning, and the visuals for "Actor" have that wonderful blend of heartwarming Forger family life and the subtle melancholy of their secrets. This show seriously has the best taste in theme songs😊

The Fandom refers to young loid/ real loid as *REDACTED* whenever discussing his real self. The series has only alluded to the war but now we will get to see it and how it shaped our adult characters

Ben

So his pops is wrong for wanting a 5 yr old to study but it’s cute for same 5 yr old to wanna be a soldier lol

Jordino Hibbert

To Loid I think he is very guilty over lying and then the bombs drop and he realizes his father lied to him. His father said there would be no war but there is. I also like that whenever Loid passes out he remembers his childhood. And Anya has two Tonitrus bolts and one Stella. They don't cancel each other out it's just a race to collect 8 Stella before bolts. ALSO the Loid's bedroom door says something along the lines of "Currently Out" or "Away from home". It is not his name.

AttackRunRepeat

Baby Bond too!

AttackRunRepeat

the friends at the secret base😭

Douglas Ferreira

Is Loids dad the Aizen VA!

CaptainCameron

on a lighter note, in the OP it looks like Anya is leading baby Loid and baby Yor off to play.

William Roberts

This is what is heavily implied.

victoria t

The first strike hit the kids secret base, i don't think Loids friends made it 😢.

Ryan H

This will not answer your questions as I am not about to spoil stuff :P With that said, The first explosion 29:08 happened in the same location we see in 25:10 so Loyd clearly must have had the devil's luck that day

Sakomi Arorim

I may be wrong, but it looked like that first bomb hit the kids hide-out. Baby Loid said it used to be a military depot, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was targeted first. I have a bad feeling his little friends didn’t make it.

When Loid’s father was scolding him, it seemed to me that, yes, he appeared to be a strict dad and maybe not a very good husband (which I agree with), but beyond that, he really seemed to care about Loid. He told him to think about his future, not about war — that it was childish and unrealistic. When Loid mentioned that he wanted to fight the “bad guys,” his father seemed genuinely angry. In the French translation, it was written as “the demons of the East,” which sounded much more striking. It made me think that Loid’s father really disliked how his son saw other people as “bad guys” without even knowing them. As we saw, the atmosphere in this episode felt quite tense, people were anxious, especially Loid’s mother and the old man listening to the radio. When Loid’s father left for the border, it seemed like something important (obviously related to the upcoming war). But they don’t just send anyone to the border like that, he didn’t look like a regular soldier, so maybe he had a higher rank. If that’s the case, and he actually holds a higher position, it would make sense that he knows more about the real situation and that his anxiety could explain his attitude towards Loid. In the end, Loid’s father didn’t really seem like a bad dad to me (maybe a bad husband), but I truly think he cared about his son. Just my thoughts. Obviously, this is only based on what we know so far — things might change as the episodes go on and we learn more. But for now, based on this episode, that’s the impression I got. And above that, yeah, it seems like we’re diving into Loid’s past. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, but I was also a bit anxious about it. Now that it’s here, it feels quite direct for a first glimpse, but yeah, I’m ready to watch this season together, and I hope we’ll all enjoy it !

Garkad

It’s going to be so heartbreaking next episode 😭😭
