I loved this episode SO MUCH when it came out and when I read it in the manga—shouto and his family always reminded me of my own in some ways, and it was beautifully cathartic to see a father really hold accountability and apologize to what he did to his family in the end. And the way that shouto tells with his mother about his talks with his classmates, how they sometimes argue but often come out with a stronger understanding of each other for it afterwards—growing up in a household where arguing was terrifying, and often set off the father?? That's huge. Especially when like. Often (tho not always) growing up in those situations you learn to avoid conflict--fearing the worst. With the way Touya came back and saw what was happening between Endeavour and shouto, that only reaffirmed his fears that he was a failure in his mind. But he never actually gave his family (dad) the chance to confirm or deconstruct that fear verbally/in a conversation or through action. To give his family a chance to make it up to him. He just ran off. And its like.... if touya had overcome that fear (that i dont think he realizes was fear? Cause granted there was a lot of hate and anger and sadness too) earlier and adressed his family.... 😭 had they known he was alive, would it be different?? Would it really be different if Dabi hadn't faced his family as a fully fledged villain trying to kill them? Who knows. I like to think so. Idk. Im just. Argh. The todoroki family, man. I get a lil messed up thinking about them. Though funny enough, not as much anymore. I hit some sort of emotional limit with them ngl. Or, maybe, I just made my peace with Shouto's family story & mine. These days, Himiko's story gets me a lot more (....... growing up autistic, being told to stop acting unnaturally? Having the world around you make no sense as a kid? Eventually putting on a mask of normality?? Feeling 'wrong', and having unusual interests/reacting very strongly to interests? Wanting to be close to others, but being bad at it?? Feeling inhuman? AND THEN U GET A STORY LIKE HIMIKO'S??? AND SOMEONE (OCHAKO) FINALLY SAYING WHAT SHE'S WAITED TO HEAR HER WHOLE LIFE (much like touya and his dad ;;^;; i am unwell about these villains)???? UGH. GODDAMN. OUCH.) Anyways uh. Very curious to see what u reaction is to the next two episodes, you've always seemed rather off put by Himiko XD (im guessing by all the blood and stuff and her unnerving/creepy expressions/facets) even while u understand that her circumstances were kinda fucked up. And im. So im curious as to how u react to her story (and of course, the reaction to the reveal of Armoured Allmight and the beginning of that fight hehehehehee)

2025-10-13 13:09:23 +0000 UTCthe ultimate tragedy of Dabi having his mother's quirk the ENTIRE time, yet it only appeared when he was close to dying. also just to clarify, I don't believe Endeavor was calling Touya a failure in the past. he was forcing him to stop training because he saw that Touya's fire was too strong for his own body. He communicated it the wrong way for sure though

2025-10-13 03:35:41 +0000 UTCThe trauma of the hellish Todoroki family is so well written. So many chances to turn it around and they NEVER did it, all it took was one change, but it never came. Endeavors VA at the end just killing it with the depression. The ice jet around Iida and Shoto, and the animation of Iida going SO fast was so nice, having read the Manga I knew the animation would have to be amazing, but my god does it exceed expectations.
