Oh my, this is an abomination. It's insane that this could be allowed to happen to such a well regarded series. It's not even just the lack of animation, the actual art looks like ass too imo. Throw a dart at a random show in Crunchyroll's library and there's a 90% chance it looks better than this on every level. I don't understaaaaand.

2025-10-14 16:31:54 +0000 UTCI mean, personally I think they're capturing the heart of the manga quite well, maybe they stay too close to the source material and are afraid to take liberties with animating it which is why it feels like manga panels literally being shown haha. I can enjoy this, Blue lock kind of did the same and I liked that as well. But I know many people do not like this style of anime, so idk why they choose for this when popular opinion will be against them.

Also, the opening and outro has more animation than the entire episode 😭 I hope after the feedback they could delay the episode and work on it more 😭 Who’s rushing them is my question?!

You can probably finish a short anime by the time this finishes airing, and then determine whether it's worth watching or not. I am trying to watch it but the animation is so bad that it's constantly distracting me away from the dialogue and what's happening. If the dialogue is not important and only fight scenes are necessary, so be it; but then it doesn't justify putting out a whole episode of dialogue...

This was clearly made by a team that has no love for the source material, and it's pathetically rushed. Even the monster association intro had multiple copy/paste background frames (check Reddit for breakdowns) that are frankly embarrassing in 2025.

That’s the best I can hope for. Cause it seems like they’re doing a similar thing they did where they zoom in on a specific aspect to some animation. For this it’s the faces and for Bluelock it was zooming in on the feet

I even went back to watch some episodes from season 1 and it was pretty much the same. Of course, if the fights have no animation then I’ll eat these words but I don’t think this episode was as bad as it’s been made out to be

Between the jarring white backgrounds, the frame loops for almost everything happening in the show, to that ridiculous walking in place loop where they just move the still background to fake the movement. That was very difficult to get through.

2025-10-13 07:58:13 +0000 UTCwatching your reaction is my second time watching the ep and I think one of the biggest things that make the bad animation so noticeable is the panning and zooming that is used to try and add movement when there is none. every scene is panning or zooming on a still image with bad mouth flaps. Also the entire scene with Atomic Samurai was ROUGH it was like someone was moving a cut out image back and forth to try and mimic walking. boy oh boy
