Momo exhaled, then nodded, eyes scanning the battlefield. “Alright. We need to split their focus. A group stays defensive while another goes on the attack. If we make them hesitate, we get more openings.”
“Sounds good,” I said, turning to the others. “Yo, brainiac’s got a plan. Who’s on offense?”
Bakugo, obviously. Kirishima too. Sero, Kaminari, and Todoroki gave quick nods. The rest would hold back, playing defense.
“Got a way to slow them down?” I asked Yaoyorozu.
She pressed her hands together, forming a handful of small, smoke-emitting canisters. “This should help break their formation.”
I grabbed one, tossing it forward. The smoke burst out, spreading fast. “Alright, get moving!”
They didn’t need to be told twice, launching straight into the crowd with Bakugo’s explosions. Kirishima followed, tanking a hit while Sero swung high, tagging someone mid-air. Todoroki dropped ice, cutting off a chunk of the battlefield.
Kaminari grinned. “Time to fry some circuits.” He charged up, sending a controlled jolt through the smoke. “Damn, this is better than my one-liner!” A few shouts of surprise followed—someone just got stunned.
Meanwhile, I knocked away incoming projectiles, keeping the shitstorm from getting worse. Some dumbass nearly clipped Kaminari, so I swung my bat, sending their ball flying back into their own target. Sucks to suck.
I turned to Hagakure. “Toru, suit off.”
She stripped fast, finally. Took the school long enough to make her a proper costume from her own hair. I didn’t need to keep seeing her run around naked every time she used her quirk. Not only was it a hazard for her, but it was also a hazard for me—girl was hot as hell, and I wasn’t trying to deal with that distraction mid-battle.
She tossed her gloves and boots aside and disappeared. “Alright, I’m moving!”
Yaoyorozu kept the plan going, handing off smoke bombs to Shoji. He launched them overhead, buying us cover. Bakugo, as expected, ignored all strategy and just went straight for blood. A blast sent two students flying. Kirishima blocked a throw, then charged ahead. Sero swung from a pipe, knocking a guy mid-air with his tape.
Uraraka threw herself into the fray, touching two of the closest opponents before they could react. The moment they lifted off the ground, she kicked one straight into the other. “Tag, you’re it!”
A ball whizzed past. I sidestepped and swung my bat, knocking another into someone’s knee. They dropped like a sack of bricks. A few more heads turned our way.
Todoroki exhaled sharply, already raising an ice wall to cut them off. “Midoriya, left.”
Izuku turned just in time to duck under a wide swing. The idiot in front of us grinned like he thought he had us, but he didn’t see the tape wrapping around his ankle. Sero yanked, and the guy face-planted into the dirt.
“Nice teamwork,” I said, stepping over him.
Jiro jabbed a plug into the ground. “They’re regrouping fast! Need another distraction!”
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small water bottle from inventory. Twisting the cap off, I tossed the whole thing forward. “Todoroki, break it!”
He got the idea fast. A burst of ice shot forward, shattering the bottle mid-air. Water sprayed out, turning into a fine mist.
“Kaminari, light it up!”
Kaminari grinned. “Oh, hell yeah!” He sent a controlled charge through the mist. The air crackled, and a static wave spread out, making the closest enemies flinch. A couple stumbled back, their hair standing on end, instincts kicking in before they even realized what happened.
I didn’t waste the opening. “Move!”
We ran, dodging projectiles as Yaoyorozu glanced at me, eyes sparking with an idea. "Nice combo. I think I can make similar bombs."
I grinned. "That’s my girl. Do that."
She stiffened for half a second, muttering, "Who’s your girl?" under her breath with a soft blush.
A few others followed as we ducked into a building, the structure still standing strong while everything outside looked like a demolition derby gone wrong.
Kaminari cut in. "Dude, I got zapped from my own attack back there. Static’s a bitch."
Jiro scoffed. "Maybe don’t fry the battlefield without warning."
Uraraka exhaled, stretching her arms. "We knocked out a good chunk, but there’s way too many left."
Yaoyorozu was already forming new bombs. "If we can break their groups apart, we stand a better chance. Most of them are fighting in clusters."
Shoji, standing near the entrance, flicked an ear toward the outside. "They’re still focusing on U.A. first. If we stay here too long, we’ll get pinned down."
I pointed at the stairs. "Up we go. If they’re dumb enough to box us in, I’ll parachute us down like I did in the mountains and block the entrance. They can kiss this exam goodbye."
The second we hit the stairs, I didn’t have to tell them twice—we moved up fast, no hesitation. No one was dumb enough to argue. They figured it out by now. If I said go, they went. If I called a play, they followed.
We stepped into a large meeting room. Chairs, a long table, windows overlooking the battlefield below. Some of the others went to the window, watching the chaos still unfolding.
“They’ve given up,” Sero muttered.
“Nah,” I said, pulling out a chair and sitting down. “They just got tired of getting their asses kicked.”
Yaoyorozu sat across from me, already thinking ahead. “They’ll try a different approach. If they can’t overwhelm us physically, they’ll use strategy.”
“Yeah,” Jiro said, watching the battlefield. “But who’s got the brains to pull that off?”
Kaminari snorted. “Please, if some genius mastermind was gonna show up, they would’ve done it by—”
The sound system in the room crackled to life.
A voice—smug, confident, and already making me want to throw something—came through.
“Ah, U.A.. Congratulations on running away efficiently. Not very heroic, but then again, not surprising.”
All of our buttholes clenched.
“Who the fuck?” Kaminari snapped, looking around.
The speakers crackled again. “Ah, apologies. Was that too direct? I assumed U.A. students could handle a little critique.”
Sero exhaled. “Great. Who’s this asshole?”
No one answered because no one had a damn clue. The voice was confident, almost smug, and that was enough to tell me we weren’t dealing with some random idiot. The fact that they weren’t throwing hands immediately meant they had a plan.
Yaoyorozu pushed her hair behind her ear. “They wouldn’t be broadcasting like this if they didn’t think they had the upper hand.”
“They better hope they do,” Bakugo muttered.
The speakers clicked again. “I’ll admit, I expected better. U.A. should be the pinnacle of hero education, but so far, you’ve relied on brute force and reactive thinking. Hardly impressive.”
Sato huffed. “Does she ever shut up?”
The voice continued. “It’s a shame, really. So much potential, yet so little strategy. But that’s fine. I’ll give you a lesson myself.”
The door slammed shut behind us.
“Okay, yeah, not dealing with this,” I said, turning back. I grabbed the handle, but it didn’t budge. I kicked the bottom of the door. “Locked.”
A low hissing noise filled the room.
Uraraka cursed. “Gas.”
Yaoyorozu already had her hands on the table, something forming. “We need masks.”
I got up, clapping my hands. "Nah, too many of us. Make air filters instead. Sero, seal the vents. Kirishima, Bakugo, break the glass for ventilation. Move."
Yaoyorozu was already forming the filters, no hesitation. Sero shot tape, sealing vents one by one. Kirishima and Bakugo smashed windows, letting the gas flow out. Wind rushed in, mixing with the hissing sound still filling the room.
I turned to the others. "Izuku, they have eyes on us. Shoji, Ojiro, you’re with him—find the cameras. Todoroki, Tokoyami, make a bridge to the next room. Toru, scout ahead. Jiro, intel. Now."
They moved without question. Izuku was already scanning, Shoji stretching out his limbs, Ojiro darting to the nearest wall. Todoroki didn’t bother responding, ice already forming along the broken frame. Tokoyami followed, Dark Shadow stretching out to support it. Toru disappeared, light footsteps heading out. Jiro knelt, plugging into the floor.
"Two floors up, bigger group moving in," she said. "Not fast, but they’re setting something up."
"Let me guess," I muttered. "Traps, more gas, some bullshit plan they think is genius."
Yaoyorozu finished the last filter, passing them around. "With this much effort, they’re confident."
"Yeah, in their own IQ score." I glanced at Izuku. "Cameras?"
"One in each corner, and the hallway outside," he said. Shoji confirmed with a nod. Ojiro was already on it, kicking down the first one.
Todoroki stepped onto the bridge, testing the ice. "We move now or we get boxed in."
"Go," I said, already following.
Jiro pulled her jacks free and ran. Kaminari went after her. The rest followed. No time to waste.
The other room was empty, desks and chairs shoved against the walls. No gas, but that didn’t mean much. Yaoyorozu had the same thought.
"They’ll cut us off soon," she said. "What’s the next move?"
I waved lazily. "You’re the brain, figure it out."
Yaoyorozu was already thinking, eyes moving fast. She had that look, the one that meant something was clicking into place. She grabbed a chair, flipped it over, and started pulling off parts like she was breaking down a puzzle. "They’re expecting us to react. If we do, we’re playing into their plan."
"Right," I said. "So let’s not do that."
Shoji had an ear pressed to the door. "Footsteps. Multiple people. Spacing is too planned."
"They're positioning themselves," Todoroki muttered.
Yaoyorozu nodded. "They want to box us in completely before pressing their advantage. If we act too early, they'll adjust. Too late, we’re trapped."
Bakugo cracked his knuckles. "Then we blast through ‘em before they’re ready."
"Yeah, no," I said. "They’ve already factored that in. Gas, locked doors, and traps? That’s not some dumbass swinging wild. That’s someone who actually planned ahead."
Jiro flicked her earlobe. "Someone's talking outside. One person, giving orders. Everyone else is just agreeing."
Yaoyorozu’s hand hovered over the table. "They’re confident. Too confident."
"Like they think we’re already beat," I said.
Yaoyorozu smiled. “We already beat them. Should be any second.”
Bakugo scoffed. “What the hell does that mean?”

2025-04-14 05:50:00 +0000 UTCSo, the Provisional Hero License Exam in My Hero Academia is basically this big test where students from hero schools all over Japan come together to prove they are ready to act like real heroes. Not full pros yet, but it lets them legally use their Quirks in emergencies and stuff, pretty big deal. The whole thing takes place in this massive, high-tech testing facility run by the Hero Public Safety Commission. Think a giant arena-like zones that can simulate anything, battlefields, disasters, rescue situations... you name it. The class started in an open area with rocky hills all around. In original plot everyone targets U.A. for some reason, as their Sport Festivals reveal their Quirks and weaknesses. But it is dumb. The exam is split into two main parts. First Part is Free for all Combat Test. Everyone has these targets stuck to their bodies and a handful of balls. The goal is to tag others' targets while protecting your own. It is total chaos as everyone's running around using their Quirks, trying to take each other out. Class 1-A stands out, so they get swarmed early on. Second Part is Rescue Operation. Way different vibe. Instead of fighting, they have to rescue fake civilians in a disaster scenario. It’s about staying calm, giving first aid, making people feel safe, like actual hero stuff. Then, just to make things wild, “villains” show up (they are pro heroes playing bad guys), and the students have to deal with that too. So yeah, the exam is not just about power, it is more about heart, judgment, and whether you got the full package to be a hero.

2025-04-13 21:17:34 +0000 UTCOk I'm totally confused on the layout of the battle field, I didn't get passed the mountain survival arc in the anime. So I'm pretty much blind on this section, and like a construction site isn't enough info from the last chapter.
