Patreon Exclusive— Aizawa's Evaluation Logs Chapter 1- First Impressions Are Lies

File: Aizawa_S. | Homeroom 1-A | Initial Evaluation Notes
Access Level: Faculty Only
Date: April 8 – Post Entrance Exam Briefing

I don’t like first impressions.

They’re unreliable. Messy. Often loud.

You think you’ve got someone figured out, and then they start bleeding, laughing, or turning invisible in the middle of a villain attack and everything shifts.

But protocol is protocol. So here I am. New class. New headaches. One erasure-worthy migraine at a time.

#01 – Midoriya, Izuku

Rescue points off the charts despite one hero act. Possible preferential treatment. No coordination. Tripped over his own legs twice during the footage.

Emotionally unstable. Talks to himself. A lot. Might be developing some kind of savior complex already. That needs to be crushed before it blooms.

I’ll admit—he kept moving when it counted. Could be useful. Or could explode. Figuratively. Hopefully.

#02 – Bakugo, Katsuki

Where do I start.

Combustible personality. Built like a linebacker. Seemed personally offended by every other applicant’s existence. Called someone a “walking statistic.” Loud enough to echo.  Knows how to win but not how to lose.

His strategy during the exam: “Find target. Destroy target. Repeat until bored.” Brutal, efficient, undeniably effective… and completely unhinged.

Will either be a top-five Pro or a court case. No in-between. Lacks cooperative instinct. Needs someone to punch him in the ego. Repeatedly.

#03 – Yaoyorozu, Momo

Recommended. Impressive Quirk, near-eidetic memory, academic standout. Overconfident on paper—will need reality checks. Currently treats everything like a textbook. We’ll see if she folds when the answers aren’t printed.

She’s spent too long being “correct.” I want to see what happens when she’s wrong.

Possible leadership material if she stops second-guessing and starts improvising. Might pair well with a chaos vector.

Speaking of chaos…

#04 – Midoriya, Ryuu

No relation to #01, according to him. Shared household, shared last name, shared hair color. Sure.

Application flagged: “Limitless Quirk.”
No further data.

Principal Nezu reviewed it and said—and I quote—

“Oh, this one will be fun.”

He smiled while fighting three robots at once. Used a bat instead of his Quirk. Mocked a malfunctioning unit by calling it “Wall-E’s delinquent cousin.” Swung for the head.

Ended the exam by launching a robot off the course, waving goodbye, and saying, “Tell Megatron I said hi.”

Potential diagnosis: sociable gremlin. May eat rules. Watchlist: updated.

#05 – Iida, Tenya

Classic Class Rep syndrome. Loud. Upright. Wears too much cologne.

Seems allergic to humor. Wrote a seven-point email correcting a typo in his acceptance letter. Already tried to correct the announcement speaker for being “too casual.” Will either become Class President or get stabbed for being annoying. Probably both.

I’ll give him this—he’s fast. Could outpace anyone in the class. But I’m worried he’ll try to lead before anyone’s willing to follow.

#06 – Todoroki, Shoto

Recommended. Powerhouse. Precision-based. Didn’t even blink during the entire exam. Walked through it like he was on a shopping trip.

Didn’t speak a word on interview day. Just nodded once. Still not sure if that was respect or frostbite.

Half-hot, half-cold. And all tension. His file reeks of family interference. This one's going to be complicated.

#07 – Asui, Tsuyu

Quirk logged. Performance quiet, effective, efficient.

Frog-type abilities. Ridiculous range of mobility. Keeps her emotions flatlined.

Noticed something watching the footage: She stopped to check a fallen applicant’s pulse, then advanced.

Instinctual rescue mindset. Might be one of the few with the right heart for hero work.

#08 – Kaminari, Denki

Can short-circuit himself.

That’s not a joke. That’s the Quirk’s actual downside.

Showed solid ranged potential. Needs control. Also needs someone to physically restrain him from becoming friends with Mineta.

#09 – Kirishima, Eijiro

“Manly.” That’s what he called his own strategy. Just “manly.”

Tanked damage well. Charged headfirst into battle. Seems to believe friendship is a combat stat. Could be worse.

#10 – Hagakure, Toru

Still not used to the idea of taking attendance and hearing “here!” from the void.

Invisibility is a good infiltration skill. But also—how do I confirm she’s following dress code? Like if I whispers from the void, does that mean she…

Not my problem.

#11 – Shoji, Mezo

Reliable. Quiet. Solid defensive instincts. Performed rescue tasks during exam without hesitation.

Will be useful once the kids start panicking and need a stabilizer.

#12 – Ashido, Mina

Slid through the course like a neon gremlin on acid wheels.

She’s fast, flashy, and probably needs ADHD meds. But she made it through clean and left a smile on half the medical staff's faces.

Morale booster. Until she burns something.

#13 – Jiro, Kyoka

Strong sense of rhythm in both movement and analysis. Used her quirk to echo-map a debris field in real time. Surprised me.

Gives off the “too cool to care” aura. Bet she’s already judged my fashion choices.

#14 – Sero, Hanta

Tape elbows. Don’t laugh. He’s creative.

Rope-swinged his way to the finish line like Spider-Man with duct tape.

Solid mobility support.

#15 – Mineta, Minoru

Why is he here?

No, seriously. Why is he here?

Possibly blackmail. Possibly Nezu’s idea of a joke.

#16 – Aoyama, Yuga

Shoots lasers from his stomach. Poses after every shot. Quotes himself in third person.

Confidence is either genuine or deeply tragic. Might be both. He thinks he sparkles when he walks.

Conclusion: Keep him away from Bakugo. And Ryuu. God help us if those three interact.

#17 – Ojiro, Mashirao

Tail. Martial artist. Extremely polite. Possibly has never yelled in his life.

Performance was clean. Technique-based, not flashy. I had to rewatch his footage because I forgot he was in the top ten. That’s not an insult—just means he does the job and doesn’t beg for a medal.

Will probably be the most emotionally stable person in the room. Poor bastard.

#18 – Tokoyami, Fumikage

Bird-headed. Talks like he was raised in a haunted cathedral. Wears a cloak indoors. No one has told him that's not required.

His Quirk—Dark Shadow—is powerful. Dangerous at night. A little too aggressive when agitated. Same goes for the Quirk.

They bicker mid-fight. I have no idea how to grade that.

Possible mentor pairing: get him around someone who isn’t allergic to light.

#19 – Uraraka, Ochako

Sweet, well-meaning, and stronger than she looks. Acrobatics are excellent. Quirk is deceptively simple but devastating with creative application.

Said her reason for becoming a hero was “money,” then immediately tried to take it back. I respect the honesty.

Seems like the type who’ll jump into danger without thinking. Still… I think she’ll float.

#20 – Sato, Rikido

Sugar-powered strength. A literal gentle giant. Brought his own post-exam protein bars. Labelled.

Quiet, respectful, doesn’t stand out unless hitting something. That’s fine.

Gave his lunch to Aoyama, then ignored the sparkle feedback like a pro. Potential big-brother archetype.

Might anchor the rest when things go bad. They will.

Summary:

Alright. Twenty names. Twenty quirks. Twenty futures currently hanging by duct tape and teen hormones.

And here I am, about to teach them how to be heroes with nothing but capture tape, bloodshot eyes, and a voice that sounds like it lost a fight with a paper shredder.

Some of them are monsters. Some are weirdos. Some are quietly terrifying. And some might actually make it.

Midoriya Ryuu worries me. So does Bakugo, but at least his violence is loud. Ryuu smiles before he hits something.

We'll test that tomorrow.

First impression?

This is going to be exhausting.

But… maybe interesting.

Comments

I think the same, but bothering him is just as good, but I want to see the second chapter of this chapter no matter what.

Good chapter, but the Mineta hate is getting a bit too much in my opinion, while I despise his pervertness, he has a very solid quirk for both rescuing and immobilization and even uses it for movement tech. He's a pervy little shit gremlin for sure, but while not an S tier quirk like Dark Shadow or Explosion, its 100% in the upper half of quirks when we look at Class 1-A as a whole. Essentially, while questionable, he deserves his Hero Class position compared to studnets in 1-C or even business class.
