This is the movie that put director Roland Emmerich on the map and convinced the guys at 20Th Century Fox to give him the go ahead to direct a little movie about the guy from Jurassic Park teaming up with the Fresh Prince to combat an alien invasion.

2026-01-31 03:51:17 +0000 UTCThe actor who played Dr.Jackson in the TV series looks so much like the guy from the movie that I thought for years they were the same actor. Since you liked the movie you'll love the series and it's iconic characters. They added two main characters to the team who always go through the stargate. A female scientist who is smart, tough, and beautiful of course, and a guy who was one of the alien's guards who switches sides. The guards are a warrior slave race and he decides the Earth people can free his people.

Plus if I'm not mistaken it's the only show of that time, maybe even still, that had support from the US Airforce and was provided consultants as technical advisors. They had an arrangement with the USAF Office of Public Affairs.
