I think the ex was jalous that chi Cheng and Chen yu were so close,we can see that in the last scene,he found out something about Chen yu and force him to lie to chi Chen. Maybe Chen yu has a plan with his provocation about the past so chi Cheng stay mad and doesn’t fall for his ex’s trick. I think Chen yu wants to protect chi Chen but it’s hard for us to understand everything because we don’t know the full story yet.
