WIP - Closet Set!!
Added 2020-07-11 00:28:33 +0000 UTCI am sooooo excited for this set!! It has been half finished and a WIP for months cause I kept getting stuck on how to design it. But its finally coming together and i had to share some previews with you.
So this started out because I loved the closet idea from get together but hated how you couldnt see the inside or customize like an actual closet. so i made a set of doors that are functionally the same as the closet, but allows you to build whatever you want behind it!! it comes in a two door version and a single door version that is a sliding pocket door!
the built ins come totally empty with lots of slots! anything you put on the angled shelves (which i designed for shoes) will snap to the correct angle, so you can use any clutter here!
the clothes snap to the curtain rod AND dont start underneath the floor cause that drove me bananas. normal deco also wont snap to the rod, its a special slot just for the clothes :)
the spot above the drawers is empty so i made a mirror and a functional style board to fit in that space! or leave it empty :) i also made some super cute clutter like the glasses and necklace holder and still working on some more things!
i also redid the curtain rack from my old 'Dont Be Clothes Minded Set' and removed all the clothes so you could customize it yourself. it has the same snapping feature for the clothes as the builts ins do.
i also made a plain rod for the wall and for space saving sims :)
any other ideas/requests?? what do you think??

yes this was actually my original approach! i was going to make a whole modular closet system but was never really happy with how it turned out. ive actually been working on this on and off for like 5 months now!

2020-07-15 04:01:17 +0000 UTCive been wanting to do a closet forever but neveer finished because i couldnt find an elegant solution for the clothes to snap to the rod. i dont like it when the clothes start underneath the ground and when the slots allow clutter to be snapped to them. but i finally figured out a solution!!

2020-07-15 04:01:11 +0000 UTCI have a suggestion. You could make it 2 one tile pieces instead of a single 2 tile piece. They can clip together like your bathroom set If that makes any sense. That way we can play around with the placement a bit more. I like to make walk-in closets in my larger builds so this is going to be great in my game.

I'd love to be able to see the contents of the closet more. Also maybe there could be a closet that's like a hall closet full of guest towels and a medicine section or toy storage (that's what my hall closet ended up being for lol). Oh and a small 1 tile size closet insert as an entryway coat closet!

So I just gotta ask, when you say they doors are functionally the same as the closet, does that mean that sims can still make out/woohoo in the custom closet, or is it just for changing outfits? Somebody made a squashed one tile version of the closets a really long time ago which were woohoo compatible, but when I tried them a few months back, the footprint was super wonky and my sims weren't able to walk in the hallway on the other side of the wall. Either way, I can't tell you how freaking excited I am about this!
