Play Chess on Computers and Tablets!
Added 2020-11-11 14:35:07 +0000 UTCI know playing chess is a great way to improve logic skills in the game but word on the street is that they aren't pretty and a pain to place in game. Someone mentioned that Sims 3 had the option to play chess on a computer so I wanted to recreate that in Sims 4!
My initial goal was to add an additional option to play chess on tablets and computers. However, the best way for me to implement this without scripts/requiring additional mods and also be compatible with MCCC etc. was to override the BicBlock game for computers and tablets. But this means less files/upkeep for you and also should work with all custom CC computers and mods like MCCC!
I created custom videos for when your sim is playing chess! The chess pieces actually move on the screen as they play. Similar to the chess table, this increases the logic skill and also adds a focused moodlet from playing.
After reaching certain levels in the logic skill, your sim can use the computer to compete in tournaments and win some simoleons! They can also stream their gameplay and play against other sims. These options are on the computer only.

PS: Again, just want to mention this is an override that will replace the BlicBlock (aka tetris) game on tablets and computers. If you are attached to that game, you will not want to install this!

2020-12-16 14:26:31 +0000 UTCHey, is it possible to disable autonomus use of this interaction? I love this mod, but it's annoying when my sim was supposed to sleep or cook and when I look away, they interrupt that stuff and go play chess on the computer XD
