Added 2021-01-20 20:10:50 +0000 UTCI have had it with SimFileShare. I asked you all your opinion on this a few months ago and the feedback I got was to stay with SFS despite the issues. Since then the issues have gotten worse and not only am I frustrated with your inability to access files half the time, me being unable to upload/update files, but they have also refused to take down stolen files (more on this later).
Because of the amount of support I have, which I am just so beyond grateful and humbled by, I decided to shell out the big bucks and pay for a better sharing platform. I have paid for the professional version of DropBox which has tons of features that I think will create a significantly better user experience for you! Reliable access to files, a much cleaner look with NO ADS, and more.
It is going to take me a few days to get all of my work transferred over, links updated everywhere, etc so please hang tight with me while I do that. I have quite a bit of CC it turns out ;)
Update: I added another image to this post showing an example of how the download interface will look like. I was not a huge fan of dropbox, but the version I am paying for comes with tons of features including giving you a custom download interface. So it will be MUCH better than the standard dropbox download you may have seen before.

On a final note, I want to address patrons illegal reuploading my work. There are unfortunately a few patrons in here that have only subscribed with the intention to take my work that is released early access and reupload it. This is not only illegal under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, but it is mostly a bummer that some people are only here to take advantage of me. I don't put my work behind a paywall and always release publicly after early access so I have a hard time understanding why some people would be motivated to do this.
BUT I don't let it bring me down because I know most of you are just the most wonderful, generous people, so all of you make up for that! Thank you! :)
With the new sharing platform I will now be able to digitally hide a watermark/copyright in my work which will allow me to track down the people stealing my work.
Many of you have shared with me when you find my work reuploaded which I am so grateful for. If any of you encounter my work shared or uploaded elsewhere, it is super helpful if you could share the original place you found the link shared and not the media fire/sim file share link. Having the original posting helps me more easily track down the person and get the reuploads removed.

2021-02-06 08:27:48 +0000 UTCI don't know if any of you are aware, but sfs is also searchable. if you look for (my old simfileshare) chicvibe simfileshare the sims 2, it will come up on google. if you are using simfileshare for files you need to keep a handle on, like wip's you are saving backups of, or your personal saves, etc. your work is not private.

I have friends who are artists and only make money from what they produce, it makes me so cross when people steal and copy their work, especially someone like you who does so much and doesn't require any sort of payment.

And I could never get one click downloads to work! Maybe in the future I will return, but for now I am really how with how dropbox is going. And now with one click downloads you don't even need to leave the page!!

2021-01-22 01:19:48 +0000 UTCI think when most of us encouraged you to stay with SFS the thought was a) free is good and b) they kept indicating at that point that improved access was on the way. I still like the idea of it, but in practice the experience has grown a little shaky.

2021-01-21 03:24:59 +0000 UTCit is bad cause it is such a great concept! and I can totally relate about footing the bill too, but if they offered a paid membership for creators i would have totally done that! or if they made a patreon i would have supported that. same with sims 4 studio, i think they should have a patreon so they can dedicate more resources to improvements and such. also i dont mind uploading to patreon posts, but the problem is updates. especially with mods i make updates and having to manually go back and update posts is hard.

It's too bad they can't get good hosting sorted out for the massive amount of traffic they must have. To be fair, I can relate and understand how that can happen, especially when one is footing the bill by yourself. I'm sure the DropBox option you have chosen will work just fine for ya. Though I find downloading files directly from Patreon is with 100% guaranteed no issues, I do understand that as a creator and digital download owner how important it is to be able to track said downloads and use at least some kind of analytics program. Maybe you could add Google Analytics to Patreon or encourage them to include a better file tracking method as I assume that is why you don't use it. Anyhow, however we get your amazing creations, I'm all for it! lol as long as we can get em :D

I used to get lucky by just hitting back space and it would download now I either have to comeback later cause it will download but it suddenly takes 5 hours to download sometimes that should be done in less than a minute or not work at all.

BUT I am paying for the professional version, so the format you download links in will be nothing like standard dropbox. Unfortunatly imgur also isnt working right now so i cant share an image with you... but basically the user interface for downloading stuff is totally custom. It will be different than how you have downloaded other things from dropbox.
