Modern Family Photo Update

The Family Photo Frame has been fixed to correct the problem in laptop mode where the picture would only show up when your mouse hovered over it! I kept this revision as 1.0.2 which I know is probably confusing. My new website lets me note file versions in a different place soooo soon I hope to be a bit more organized with that.
I also think in the future I will keep my revision notes within the file and not the filename - that way you can easily replace it. But you all let me know you preference!

Alsoooo I accidently named the second revision "Family Photo Frame 1.0.1" when it should have been "Modern Family Photo 1.0.1" so I apologize for any confusion. The most up to date version is "Modern Family Photo 1.0.2"

I know photos are pretty painful to use in the game which is a bummer because they are such a huge part of realism in gameplay. The Photographic Memory Mod was my first attempt at improving them and I followed that up with the Modern Family Photo.
I received a ton of feedback on ways to improve the Modern Family Portrait including more backgrounds and adding all outfit categories. It was so fun including the community in the background submission!
There were so many wonderful options and I wanted to add them all. But to maintain my sanity, I only included 6 additional backgrounds for this version. I don't want to bore you with details but it is incredibly difficult to add additional backgrounds. But I promise to add more backgrounds in the future!
But I digress... time for the deets:
- Background styles can be chosen in build/buy mode through the swatches. However, you cannot change the swatch after it is placed. You will have to place a new object to change the swatch/background. I knowwww it kinda sucks but I promise you it was the best option.
- Additional outfit categories were added including: Hot Weather, Cold Weather, and Current Outfit
- The 'Current Outfit' is useful because the other categories default to the first style within a given category. By using 'Current Outfit' you can customize the look of each sim for the photo (I am thinking wedding photos?!?)
- Frame colors are now modified in live mode instead of through the swatches (again, I know, but I promise you it was the best option)
- Added a zoom in/out feature. This is most useful for households with smaller families.
- I modified the family portraits so they can be cloned using my Photographic Memory Mod to create smaller, frameless prints.
Now onto the background photo choices... I tallied all of the votes and used the top-voted photos in addition to considering a wide range of styles. After testing the final ones in game, I ended up with six additional backgrounds that worked well with the family portraits. I plan to add more because there are soooo many good ones that weren't used. But for the time being I used this smaller subset only so I didn't rip all my hair out ;) Below are credits to the photos I used:

I hope you enjoy this update! I am wrapping up a tonnn of things at the moment (including a huge DIY trailer/camper set) so there is lots to come in the near future!

i wish i could so much! unfortunatly the coding only lets me 'randomize pose' so i cant even let you choose specific poses. i had an experienced coder look into the option of scripting as well but this is one of those assets that seems untouchable

2021-04-06 11:57:20 +0000 UTCHey there! This is amazing, but I've been having an issue ever since I downloaded it. When I first place it, it shows as blank and/or as random color/nonsense. Then, when I hover it in live mode, it shows the photo. It's super weird! I can only show the photo when I hover over it. I've taken out all my other mods and it still does the same thing. I've tried it on a million walls and different households and the same thing keeps happening.

I don't know what updates you might have planned in the future, but I was thinking, it might be nice to have a family portrait that is live draggable like photos so that you could pass on the family portraits through the generations.

2021-03-16 23:40:29 +0000 UTCI love this so much! I just wanted to let you know that when I replaced the old file with the new, all of my old pictures disappeared. Thankfully, I never remember to save and for once, that worked in my favor, lol. I was able to exit and swap the files back and my pictures had returned. Normally I wouldn't care, but there are at least 3 generations worth of photos and I love the realism they provide. I'm not sure if this is by design, but I figured I would give you a heads up in case it's not.

Thatโs 12 objects in the catalog... so I thought this was a bit cleaner for you all since itโs 2 objects that contain everything.
