Borat segments would appear between the Ali G parts saying that the Kazakhstan government had partially funded the show and that meant they had to show their most famous reporter segments as promo for the country. It's weird as originally people felt that although Borat parts were kind of funny in their own right, it was to fill time and people just wanted Ali G really. Did Ali G in da USA then he followed this movie up with Borat and it wildly blew up like you said at the start
