Also I just watched Gavin and Stacey: A Fond Farewell, which has behind the scenes footage, but not until you've watched the very last one because of spoilers. I can't stand JC but love Smithy. He's just so cheesey and smarmy. And also very rude in real life.

This is why the uk loves this show. (As well as the humour). By the time you get to the latest Christmas special, you’ll be on the edge of your seat like the 12ish million rest of us were.

Remember at the time, late 00's, there was no slagging Corden off for his personal life. People nowadays are a bit over-sensitive an dramatic about him and won't watch a good show in which he's just one character. A case of 'cutting off your nose to spite your face'. P.S. it's pronounced 'Barry' as in 'carry' (short vowel) not Baarhri as you said it.
