Linden Dryad

They are almost one with the Trees. Usually you can see them only as graceful branches. But if you'll be lucky enough, calm and silent enough, maybe you'll be able to see them in soft, feminine skin. Somewhere in the Forest, somewhere in the meadows. When the night meets the day.

Beautiful, timid, dangerous...

Unfortunately, most humans disrespect other creatures, especially those who (as people think) don't speak. Considering themselves the planet's only rightful rulers. In Poland there are some famous, old and protected trees (which some try to destroy anyway, for example by setting fire to them). However during my walks I also come across some amazing wooden beings still alive and hidden from human attempts.

In my town nearby, there is a place called Oak Square, because there was once a giant oak tree, many centuries old, from long before colonists arrived on these shores and destroyed everything. The tree was next to a schoolhouse, and from memoirs we know that over 30 children could fit inside the hollow interior. The tree died in the mid-19th century and had to be cut down. There are no pictures of the tree, but I have seen a sketch. There are no such trees now. We have lost so much.
