Marcus only wants Evan, not Trent. And therefore, Evan must pay Marcusโ price for revenge. And Trent would still carry out poetic justice; an eye for an eye, though not literally in this senecio. No, in my opinion, Trent would have very well sexually assaulted Evan to get back at Marcus instead; which is honestly worse. So no; Marcus should feel no guilt. He did what was necessary both times. The universe is clearly on his side in protecting his baby boy from evil.
