Chapter 174

After washing up in the baths, the group returned to the transportation floor where all the stuff from Tortuga Forge had come with them. There were stacks upon stacks of crates, some of which had toppled over and others were charred by fire. They rummaged through it all, lured in by curiosity.

"What the hells is this?" Arenade, with the help of Esta's draconic strength, pulled out something like a saddle-chair. It had a rubbery strip of protrusions at the top and a little switch on the side.

"Try sitting down on it," Kanae suggested, realizing what it could be from the looks alone.

"Oh, no. Knowing those dwarves, this has to be something sexual. You're not fooling me!" She eyed Kanae suspiciously.

Damn.

Time to try a different angle.

"Look, this is pretty obviously a massage chair." Kanae flipped the switch, and the entire thing began to vibrate. "Your legs are tired after all that traveling, aren't they? Doesn't a massage sound nice about now?"

"A massage does sound nice… Alright, move aside. I get first dibs since I found it!" Arenade bumped Kanae away and sat herself down on the machine.

At first, the high elf's demeanor softened with relief. However, the longer she stayed on it, the redder her face became and the more ragged her breathing got. Even her nipples were getting hard.

"Is that really a massage chair?" Eliza asked curiously.

"Well, it's certainly massaging something." Kanae answered.

Arenade jumped to her feet, startling everyone in the room.

"I'm, uh… going to go enjoy this massage elsewhere… in private!" Arenade picked up the machine and hurried out of the room.

There were probably a lot more contraptions of that variety in these boxes. Someone at home might be able to reverse engineer them, and they could mass produce these to sell across the world.

"I think it's about time I set off. No explorer stays in one place forever, and a whole world is still waiting to be charted out there," Kris said, dusting off her clothes.

"Wait. That compass. What use does a magic item have for an intrepid explorer such as yourself?" Eliza intercepted Kris at the door before she could leave.

"There's something I have to find." She popped open the compass to reveal its dial pointing to the north cardinal direction. "My ancestors buried something a long time ago somewhere in Artaggon. My old man— that stubborn coot— went searching for it and disappeared. It's been ten years since I've heard from him. I want to find out what was so important that he left."

"Is that why you became an explorer?" Kanae asked.

Kris nodded. "Well, that and going to places no one has gone before is super fun! I get to find cool places like Tortuga Forge and meet amazing people like you guys. How can I not love it?"

It wasn't like Kanae didn't understand. Starting out as an adventurer with Arenade and Edina was some of her fondest memories.

"Sounds like you're set on what you want to do. I don't know what you're looking for, but if you ever find yourself south of Artaggon in the Commonwealth, I'm sure there's plenty of places for you to explore." Kanae smiled.

"Heh. I had a feeling you guys weren't really from the Hellfire Badlands. And thanks. I'll keep that offer in mind. Try not to get into too much trouble from now on!" Kris winked, and Eliza stepped aside to let the demon woman leave.

"I believe that's our cue to depart from this accursed hot place," Eliza said.

While they were getting things into place, Kanae's satchen flashed brightly from the corner of the room. The three exchanged uneasy glances, then she remembered what it was.

"Oh, yeah! I found a weird orb in Tortuga Forge. It was just sitting on top of the anvil." Kanae retrieved the metal sphere, etched with strange symbols and glowing with light between the grooves.

"Is this also one of those?" Esta rightfully suspected it was a sex toy, but nothing about the make gave that impression.

"I'm not sure," Eliza began, tapping her chin with an unlit pipe. "If we had more time searching the forge for dwarven texts, we might have found something about it. Unfortunately, that is all lost to the three hells now. Perhaps Marwin may be able to find out more."

All they knew was that it was an ancient dwarven contraption. Who knew how long it had been sitting down there.

Eliza brushed an arm across the desk to knock everything off. She laid the brittle map on the now-cleared table. The three gathered around to study it now that they weren't under the threat of being buried under rubble.

"It's clear we need to investigate why the Queen-Mother's succubi and Lady are in this dwarven city." Eliza tapped the parcel of land just beyond Garrison Charron.

"Agreed." Esta nodded. "Should we go there now, or return to Radevic first?"

"I need to get King Turren this bavarii. We can also pester Marwin about what the orb is," Kanae said.

"Then it's settled. Radevic it is." The sorceress activated the circle beneath their feet, and Kanae bid farewell to another small fortune worth of magic crystals.

The entire tower lurched, throwing everyone off-balance. Stacks of crates toppled over. Suddenly, they and everything around them was in free fall.

"What's going on?!" Kanae cried.

Just past the window, Aidenhall palace was falling from view— no, they were the ones falling.

"Oh, silly me! Teleporting the entire tower must have detached it from Aidenhall's walkway. Of course coming back wouldn't reattach it!" Eliza rapped her knuckles over her head.

Then they were on a crash course to the bottom?

"Do something about it!" Kanae and Esta shouted.

"I'm a sorceress for goodness' sakes. Telekinetic magic is Marwin's domain! I don't have that kind of spell to—"

They smacked flat on the ground, still warm being in Suvius all that time. The impact was a lot softer than Kanae expected for such a height. Esta, the only one who didn't fall, staggered over to the window and peered outside of it— only for Marwin to levitate into view with his arms folded.

"Not such a brilliant idea anymore, is it, my old pupil?" Marwin sneered at Eliza.

"Yes, yes. Laugh it up. Just bring us back to the top already." Eliza sighed.

As the tower slowly rose back into place, Kanae went to look for Arenade. She found her in Eliza's bedchamber, face down and ass up from, eyes spinning, and the straddle machine still vibrating.

"A little… warning would have… been nice…" Arenade groaned.

The party of four split their returning workload. Rather, three of them did. Arenade returned to the mansion to check on the kids. Eliza headed to the Illuminant Repository with Marwin to research the metal orb. Esta knew a cartographer who could transcribe the aged map onto a new parchment that wouldn't fall apart at any moment.

Kanae had other plans. With the bavarii in hand, she sought an audience with King Turren. He was in the little-used throne chamber, meeting with civil and political servants alike. Although not as grandiose as the Basilica of Saint Rue, the throne was a modest hall with columns to the side and just as tall windows between them.

King Turren sat at the very back upon a simple seat. A short row of people waited in an orderly line to speak with the king. The banners of Radevic and the Church of One draped down either of the throne seat, and the Saint Priests Delayn and Camilla stood guard to his side.

"Is that you, Queen Kanae?" King Turren stood up to look over the many heads, causing them to all turn in her direction. "Please, everyone. Step aside to allow her majesty through."

Some of them did so begrudgingly, but everyone moved nonetheless.

"Hehe. Queen coming through." Kanae lifted her nose on the way down and was beginning to understand Arenade's fascination with being worshiped.

"If you're back, I presume that to mean the others are as well? How fared your journey?" the jolly King Turren asked.

"I'm going to be honest— it turned up with more questions than answers, but we might have stumbled on a lead," Kanae explained.

"Truly?" Delayn gasped. "That is good news. Frankly, I didn't expect your merry group to find much at all."

"Come now, Delayn. Amethyst and Silver have become a shining beacon to the Order of Colors! Anywho, was there anything else? I wish we could speak more, but as you can see, today has been incredibly busy." He frowned, gesturing to the audience before him.

"Actually, you'll rest easy tonight with this."

Kanae revealed to King Turren jarred wisp. He practically leaped from his seat.

"A bavarii! I can't believe you actually brought one back. Does it actually work like people say?" the king asked.

"It does! We went to sleep with it next to us, and everyone woke up feeling refreshed," Kanae explained.

"Oh, I can't thank you enough! You truly are a blessed friend to Radevic. With Delayn and Camilla as witnesses, I gift Titan to you. Take care of him! Now… I think I will cancel the rest of today's meetings for a nap," he said, holding the shining wisp up to his face.

"Cancel? But your highness, I've been waiting all day!"

"King Turren, we have a monster problem outside my town that needs taking care of!"

"You can't just leave!"

The group of people hoping to meet with the king erupted into chaos and disappointment. Kanae seized this chance to escape during the commotion. She flew for the stables, humming happily to herself.

At the front of the stables, Kanae pushed open the doors and entered the home of Aidenhall's prized livestock. There wasn't a stablehand in sight. They must be done working for the day. Many of her offspring rested inside these stalls, grown now thanks to the expedited growth of Versatile Womb and soon to serve Aidenhall's many knights.

Kanae wandered down to the last stall, built much larger than the rest to accommodate the stables' largest inhabitant. Her chest pounded, her tongue and pussy salivated, and her lust overflowed like a bucket on the verge of spilling. She opened the door to Titan, the massive male languisteed, lying amongst the hay bedding. He lifted his head and brayed excitedly.

"Did you miss me?" Kanae cooed, sitting down next to his hind legs and stroking the shaft which hid her prize. Slowly, it grew larger and larger in her hands to become the thick cock that fucked her into submission not long ago. She switched on Masochist and Versatile Womb, causing her entire body to tremble with the desire to mate.

Having sensed this, Titan got up and shook the hay off. The tusked behemoth towered over Kanae, but his size only served to excite her more. He licked her lactating nipples that were ready to feed their future offspring.

"I worked hard to get this, you know?" Kanae kneeled beneath Titan and squished his enormous, throbbing languisteed cock between her breasts. "I'll be your mate, so please fuck me as much as you want. Impregnate me as much as you can. Let's make an army of languisteeds for the Commonwealth, shall we?"

Kanae emerged from the stables a few days later naked, hair and body covered in cum, straws, and dirt. She had birthed so many languisteed foals that her womb and vagina were numb. Her nipples, too, were sore from breastfeeding so many offspring.

However, the young languis all shared the strong blood of their paternal parent. Kanae had no doubt they would grow to become just as large and powerful. The ones she had birthed before were already nearing Titan's size. These languis were going to be great assets.

"Nnngh!" Kanae stretched her arms until the joints popped. "Best lay of my life yet. Maybe I should start breeding with dragons."

"I can deal with languisteeds. Dragons? You're on your own." Runald was just now coming down from the stairs with a bag of feed slung over his shoulders.

"Runald, how about we go for a round or two~" She opened her arms to embrace him, but he tossed the burlap feed into her instead.

Kanae barely caught it without falling over, then set it down with the other stack of feed by the stable door.

"You're filthy, so no! Anyway, while you were in there, apparently there was a big commotion in the Illuminant Repository. Maybe you want to go check it out," Runald suggested.

"They did?" Kanae realized it had to have something to do with the other dwarven city and the strange sphere. "Why didn't they send someone to tell me?"

"They did… every day for the past four days, but you were too 'busy' in there. Anyway, your hard work birthed a total of 88 languisteeds. The stables are already full. What do you want to do with those foals?" he asked.

"88?! I lost count, but I didn't think I lost count that bad. Well… send twenty to Rown Company as a gift. Bring the rest to my Eminence of Sin church. They'll take care of sending them to Ehmvier," she said, spreading her wings and taking flight.

"Okay— er, wait! You're leaving me to do all that? Get back here, you degenerate succubus!"

Kanae flew to Eliza's tower to take a bath first, then hurried to the Illuminant Repository. She came across Edina first, who was teetering on the back legs of her seat and leisurely sipping from the Chalice of Endless Booze. The necromancer watched Eliza and Marwin bickering over by the desk, and Esta had been caught up in their arguments like a fed-up child with her divorcing parents.

"If they butt heads for another day longer, they're gonna crack each other's skulls. So, heard you were back a while ago. Took you this long to come see me?" Edina smirked, lifting the sloshing wine up to Kanae.

"It's been getting harder and harder to get off, so I'm kind of going to some extremes lately… Ahem. Anyway, have you made any progress?" Kanae asked.

"If you mean my necromancer shit? Dead end. Get it?" She stifled a laugh.

"Ha-ha. Be serious! We're really worried about you!"

Edina twirled her staff a few times before clenching it in both hands, parallel to the ground. The skulls were inert, and the brazier was cold. Deadly, necromantic energies sparked from end to end.

"Could be we're searching for info in all the wrong places. All of these skulls have been talking to me, but one of them is quieter than the rest. He also happens to be pretty different from them, too. Namely, he was a demon. Probably the first to wield it. Haxgorah. That name ring any bells while you were in Artaggon?" Edina asked.

Kanae searched her memories, but nothing came up. Haxgorah, north, necromancy, buried civilization… She wanted to say the dwarves had something to do with it, but most likely not. They marked their ancient cities on the map, and there wasn't a mark north of Artaggon.

"Amethyst!"

"Pupil!"

Both Eliza and Marwin shouted to Kanae, beckoning her over. She and Edina joined the others at the table, where a newly-drawn map was laid out and the metal orb sat upon it.

"Marwin wants to destroy ancient relics of the past. Talk some sense into him!" Eliza exclaimed.

"Destroy— You have got to be kidding me. These so-called relics could mean the end of us all! We have to destroy them before they destroy us!" Marwin yelled back with surprisingly youthful energy.

"Someone want to fill me in or what?" Kanae threw her hands in the air.

They opened their mouths to talk, but Kanae clamped her tail down on Marwin's face and charmed Eliza to be quiet.

"Esta… please?" Kanae looked to the drakeling for help.

"These strange texts on the new map next to each presumed city?" Eliza pressed a clawed finger to the marked city of interest. "We didn't see them before because the map was too damaged. They are dwarvish. My cartographer friend managed to recreate them more clearly. Eliza and Marwin scoured the repository for tomes to translate them—"

Marwin ripped the tail off his face. "The city is Ha'Vavish. In dwarven, it means 'factory'. We know Tortuga was one giant city built around a forge, and it was likely to supply this factory. The question then becomes, for what?"

"And Marwin… does not want this question… answered," Eliza said, wincing from being brought close to climaxing.

He continued, "Because… During my younger days—"

"When was that? The dawn of time?" Edina interjected.

"Don't interrupt me! I've stumbled into one of these dwarven cities before. This one right here, between Orturic and Radevic. Pupil, you told us about how Lady and an army of demons invaded Orturic? And the Outriders enslaved goblins to mine outside of Bisk village? I think their true goal was to uncover that same dwarven city. They couldn't, because I made sure to bury all paths that led into it."

Kanae and Edina recoiled, taken back by the new revelation.

"Wait… So, what's down there that the demons want so badly? What did you find in there?" Kanae asked the master wizard.

"An army…" Marwin muttered, sending chills down their spines. "An army of automatons and earth golems with a singular goal in mind— to have sex!"

"That's terrible! Huh… Come again?" Eliza stared in disbelief.

"Is this a joke? I thought we're being serious here!" Edina groaned.

"I am serious! I barely escaped with my life, and it was just a small outpost of a city. I dread to think how much more exists in the factory. And unlike us of the living, they have an endless supply of stamina. If they are ever to be unleashed to the world, civilization as we know it may come to an end! No one would have sex with each other anymore. They would only have sex with these… these… sex bots!" he cried.

"Maybe you're right… we should destroy it after all." The sorceress rolled her eyes.

Kanae sighed into her hands, then it hit her a second later.

"Hold that thought! Between the Queen-Mother and Lord Charron, who stands to gain the most by releasing those things to the surface?" Kanae asked.

"It'd be the succubus, wouldn't it? Get everyone hooked on sex. They want more. Bam! Queen-Mother's got a world of sex-obsessed cattle in hand," Edina said.

"That can't be right," Esta chimed back in. "Judging from the incident at Orturic and with the goblins, it seems the demons are the ones searching for it. In fact, could that be the true reason the demons invaded No Man's Land five years ago?"

Everyone swallowed hard and digested the information.

"Then how do the Queen-Mother and her succubi play into this?" Eliza asked.

"Maybe because… succubi can't control automatons and golems," Kanae said, causing everyone to go wide-eyed in shock. "An army like that is a threat to the Queen-Mother and her Mistress daughters."

"So you see now why these things are dangerous? I wouldn't know what to think if succubi were wiped off the face of the earth again!" Marwin bellowed, his voice carrying across the library corridors.

A wizened librarian pushing a cart of books through shushed him, then continued on.

"What do we do, Master?" Esta asked.

"I can't very well let Charron get his way in beefing up his army. It's going to eventually threaten the Commonwealth, too. But if we're going down there, we'll need a lot more than just a small group of us." Kanae clicked her tongue and fell into thought.

"My tower won't be able to accommodate an army either," Eliza added.

"You don't need an army," Edina began. "You got one right here. My undead can't be mind-controlled by the Queen-Mother's bitches. They don't have dicks or pussies to get fucked by sex bots either. I know you guys have been trying to keep me here for my safety, but it's not looking like we have much of a choice."
