6 am Thoughts
Added 2023-01-27 13:19:27 +0000 UTCI was doing some writing for this next part for "Tender Lovin'" and I had some thoughts I'd like to share. Essentially, I have three goals coming into this next part:
1. Work on more nuanced character expressions.
- I've been feeling my character expressions are getting kinda samey. Which isn't bad in itself, but what I'm going for is something a bit more raw than my typical exaggerated approach.
2. Be dilberate with my paneling.
- I'm guilty of just throwing in panels haphazardly as a means of filling out the page, but I want actually think about this more deeply. Why is it this shape? Why is it here? What emotion do I want the reader to feel from this? But at it's core, it's mostly about pacing and tension. Set up and payoff.
3. Capture the love between these two.
- This is what it all accumulates to really. As I said before, I really care about this; these characters. It's important for me to get something out there that's has an emotional edge. Something genuine. An artistic expression, if you may.
This is a weird feeling. A good feeling. It's like my head is in the right place. I'm not trying to meet an expectation. I'm just trying my best. And right now, it's good enough for me.
