Cross-dressing Dormitory 44

There was a tense silence filling the room. Erick already knew what was coming and prepared himself. No matter what happened, he couldn’t scream nor show any fear.

A couple of seconds later, the horrifying monster appeared on the screen.

Even though he was prepared for the jump scare, his heart pounded louder and faster. He managed to keep his face impassive and hide his reaction, but he held his breath to stop his fear from leaking out.

By his side, Mikki couldn’t do the same and let out a girlish scream and held Erick’s hand, covering part of his face with the other. At first, that wasn’t painful, but as the movie went on, and the scary parts became even scarier and more gruesome, the cross-dressing maid started using his nails without noticing, increasing the pain tenfold.

That was worse than the jump scare, but Erick endured it. He hadn’t complained so far and he wouldn’t do so. Even though they were both men, he was the one who had invited Mikki to the movie theater. If his date was scared and needed to do that, he would accept it as a man.

When the movie ended in a somewhat hopeful way—most of the characters were dead, but so was the monster—Erick and Mikki exchanged looks. The girly-boy looked pale, but when their eyes met, they laughed at the same time.

They stopped almost at the next second. The credits were still rolling, and it was a Japanese custom to stay in the cinemas until they finished. That was something Erick had learned when he went to watch his first movie in Japan and was the only one who stood up when it was over.

“Let’s get out,” Erick muttered.

Mikki seemed surprised and didn’t seem to know what to do.

With a mischievous smile, Erick took the lead and pulled him by the hand. They could feel the people’s stares on them, but they ignored it. The foreigner knew everyone wanted to do the same. When they were outside the room, Mikki laughed again, and this time, he didn’t stop.

“How does it feel to use the foreigner card with me?”

“Like I’ve done something naughty,” Mikki said, grinning. “I don’t think I’ve ever left the cinemas before the credits ended.”

“Being naughty was better or worse than the movie?”

“Yes.”

They looked at each other and laughed again. When they stopped, Mikki stretched.

“The movie was fun. I don’t remember the last time I felt so tense watching a horror movie. But that wasn’t the best part,” he said.

“It wasn’t?”

“Yeah. Going out on a date is fun. It’s been a while since I went out like this, even if it’s not a real date.”

“What are you talking about?” Erick asked with a puzzled expression. “This might be because of that game night months ago, but this is a real date. Or at least me doing my best attempt at it. You can probably already tell, but I’m not someone who goes out on a lot of dates…”

He blushed and lowered his eyes. What am I saying? I shouldn’t be saying stuff like this. I don’t wanna dampen the mood. My friend deserves to have a great time.

“You’re right,” Mikki agreed as he flashed a pure smile and got closer. “Thanks for this great date. Because of you, I got to dress up like this.”

The girly-boy twirled around, the hem of his skirt trailing behind him. He wore an open shoulder white blouse with frills, a dark pink skirt, also with frills, heels, and light makeup that only enhanced his girly face without overpowering it. His hair was tied in an elegant knot at the back of his head—Kanata had done it for him.

Erick’s heart thumped faster as he looked at his friend. Though they had left the dormitory together, seeing him like this under another light made him look even cuter.

This is too cute for his own good…

“W-Who says the date is over?” Erick wanted to sound confident but failed the second he opened his mouth. Damn it. I’m so lame.

“What?” Mikki blinked in surprise.

“Watching a movie might be a good date, but I wanna show you a great time. At least I hope.”

Erick offered his hand, hoping he at least seemed manly as he led his date to the next place. Mikki blushed and then smiled as he squeezed the hand back.

“A yukata rental shop?” the boy maid asked when they stopped before a small building. “Why would we need yukata?”

“I know you took a lot of time to pick the outfit, but there’s a summer festival happening today. It might be my inner weeb talking, but I think it’s a good date,” Erick said.

“It is,” Mikki said, smiling even more. “Help me pick a cute yukata.”

After a couple of minutes, they picked a deep purple female yukata with stars for him and a dark blue male yukata for Erick.

The attendant helped them and then said they looked good, especially the girlfriend. Erick didn’t correct her because Mikki liked hearing that they were a couple.

He said he wasn’t looking for a boyfriend, but he also told me he missed dating, so I’ll treat him like a real boyfriend, Erick thought as they headed to the festival.

Though he was focused on escorting Mikki to make sure his date had a good time, Erick couldn’t help but have too much fun. The summer festival was small, but it was just like the ones he had seen in anime and manga. There were stalls with games which he made sure to play the most with Mikki, giving the girly-boy the cute plushie he wanted. Because they were walking around for a while, they were starting to get hungry even though they had popcorn at the cinemas.

“That looks good,” Mikki said.

When Erick looked, he realized his date wanted a banana covered with chocolate and sprinkles. He bought it for him, but instead of eating it normally, Mikki put a lock of his black hair behind his ear and licked the tip first. When it was wet, he then put it almost halfway inside his cute and small mouth, enjoying the chocolate before taking a bite in the most graphical way possible.

When he finished, he gave Erick a teasing glance. “Hope you enjoyed the little show. It’s my way of thanking you for today.”

Blushing, and hoping his manly excitement wasn’t showing in that outfit, Erick grabbed his hand and led him to see the other stalls.

“What do you think of this date? Is it good?” he asked when they stopped in a quieter area a couple of hours later. Though he wanted to sound casual, he was anxious for the answer.

“It’s an amazing date,” Mikki beamed. “It’s been ages since I had so much fun like this. Thanks!”

Erick blushed but smiled in relief. But the date wasn’t over. When he saw everyone moving in the same direction, he knew it was time and led Mikki to the riverbed. There were already a lot of people waiting. They stood a little apart from the rest, so they had some room.

A couple minutes later, the sky suddenly lit up and glowed with many different colors and shapes; the fireworks had begun. As they watched the show, Mikki leaned his head against Erick’s shoulder.

When it was over and the crowd started to disperse slowly, they looked at each other. There was a moment of silence, and then, without a word, they kissed.

“This is the best way to end an amazing date,” Mikki said in a dreamy voice. He truly looked happy.

“It doesn’t have to end yet,” Erick said. That part wasn’t planned. He was caught in the moment, in that cute girly-boy. “If you want, we can…”

Erick didn’t finish the sentence and Mikki didn’t answer. Instead, he leaned closer, and they kissed again.

Then they headed to the closest love hotel.
