A Couple Announcements

Hey friends,

It's been a while since I had to write a longread, so let me get to it. For those of you with no patience for walls of text, here's a short version.

As of January 2025, we are going to:

And now, for the tl;dr version. First of all, I hate talking about money and have made it very clear in the past that this is not why we are in this business. Seriously, there are hundreds of more lucrative ways of earning for a living out there that are much less stressful or time consuming. I don't care if it sounds edgy, but we are not here to get rich, we are here to do what we love and give back to the people who assist and support us. I'm not going to lie, this year has been quite successful for us in terms of growth, but rather than hoard all that money, the first thing we did was funnel most of those extra earnings into hiring more people, fixing our regular delays and practically doubling payouts to our assistants and freelance artists to ensure everyone who worked with our studio was happy and genuinely cared for what they did. Ultimately, it all led to providing more complex and better quality models for you, our subscribers, as I hope you've had a chance to notice throughout this year.

We don't intend to stop at what we have achieved and will continue to improve wherever we can. However, bigger team mean bigger spendings, and it also doesn't help that several platforms raised their fees this year. As such, we have made a difficult decision to slightly bump up the subscription prices once again. Believe it or not, we aren't doing it lightly and have been postponing the increase for 3 months until now to close the year gracefully. Just as before, the change will only affect new subscriptions, so current patrons will continue to pay the old price until they cancel their subscription.

From my side, I promise to invest the extra money into further improvements next year. And we'll start by adding a chibi model to our monthly releases; something that we've only been doing once a year up until now. We plan to keep them simple, same as our December chibis, with the main focus on characters themselves rather than intricate dioramas that some other studios are much more versed in. Honestly, I have no clue whether this idea will click with our audience, but I'd love to try and see! If all goes well, we might add a second monthly chibi after a while. And if not, we'll scratch the experiment and get back to the drawing board. The important thing is to keep from stagnating!

Oh, and one last thing before I wrap up! We plan to update our Welcome Pack in January, so if you've been following us this year, but were reluctant to subscribe, keep in mind that now is your last chance to get the current pack!

Cheers!
Des

Sounds fair, I'm new and I really like your work. I hope to continue supporting and enjoying your excellent work.

Perfect

If you have received them, they'll stay there.

The current welcome pack models will stay in our my mini factory library right? Or do I have to download them now?

Arlen Raitt

Just to confirm: the new welcome pack is not going to be "All 2024 models". But all models from the new welcome pack will be from 2024. And yes, you'll receive it as well once it's out.

Bulkamancer

I don t think it says "all the 2024 models" but it is probably some chosen from 2024 ones that will replace the welcome pack at the moment

Same question here

Worth it!!! One question...i joined in September, if the new welcome pack are all the 2024 models does that mean I will get those files too?

Aaron Logeman

Honestly, dont mind the price hike. I don't care about chibis either though..

Max

I've enjoyed my time here, looking forward to future models. Hope you guys have another successful year!

As always Des, thank you and your team for being honest and telling us beforehand. I always appreciate you.

Honestly it is understandable, keep doing what you love, and thanks for all the work.
