Lana's Library #4 - Greek Mythology Marathon
Added 2024-06-03 08:54:21 +0000 UTCIn a hyper fixation fugue I decided I totally wanted to read The Odyssey AND 11 other Greek mythology inspired novels. Logically.
Get your snacks because this is longer than I intended and I apparently have a lot to say about the books I read in April and May.
Have you read these?
What Greek mythology fiction do you love? Do you hate?

OMG! So I don't know much (or anything) about Hadestown except that the guy who wrote Epic talked about it once and it is Greek Mythology BUT it just so happens to be playing in London while we are there for MCM so my partner and I are hoping to go see it while we are there! Oooh Pysche and Eros sounds suuuper interesting. I've learnt a little about them and the dual perspective is totally up my alley. Thank you!! - Lana π

2024-07-18 06:45:42 +0000 UTCOOo getting to spend a year talking with like-minded people about a topic like this sounds awesome! I did a course or two in ancient history at university that I was suuuuper excited for but they fell soooo flat. I just wanna hear stories and chat - not write academic essays on it haha. I had forgotten about the tour...I might do that next month in place of a review. Have been in a slump and don't have a book to talk about so that would be perfect! Thank you!! - Lana π

2024-07-18 06:44:12 +0000 UTCThough not book, you mentioned musicals so... Hadestown. Orpheus/Euridyce/Hades/Persephone. It was also just announced that a production is coming to Australia in 2025!! Further, I am about to wrap up Psyche and Eros by Luna McNamara. Its a quick read and I think has that retelling female empowerment, and is told from both characters' perspective back and forth.

As a fellow, always seem to get sick easily person I know itβs so hard and I am so appreciative of your efforts to give us another amazing book review π I love love loved this book review marathon and would totally go for more marathons intermittently between single book reviews. I also love this one because Greek mythology is so close to my heart. I even did a classical history subject in high school so I could spend an entire year learning/talking about Greek and Roman mythology at school π€© I also canβt wait for your library/office room tour (I immediately went to comment asking for a tour as soon as you mentioned finishing the renovations of the room)
