I'm sorry if I sound like killjoy it just feels to happy all of sudden given that where we last saw winter and the mother in law was when nash was fighting tempts and lost his life I guess after the fight tempts took the mother in law to see winter mother .

What if the mother in law is actually imprisoned and is separated from winter , and winter is imprisoned somewhere else until she see her mother ..... so what the mother in law is seeing is a illusion of winter and her grandchildren . She literally trapped in a perfect illusion and the other two humans might have shared the same fate as the mother in law or have either escape or died.
