Regarding Janus + GOTN

If you haven't noticed, my priorities have definitely shifted since the beginning of the year, when my goal was to finish my short film Janus and start producing my comic Garden of the Nexus. 2020 was a very tumultuous year for me, graduating and struggling to find work in a pandemic, and in 2021 I found myself still trying to figure out what I want. 

I definitely think I made the right decision spending what time I did on animation memes and building my audience on Youtube. Animation is something I'm very passionate about and enjoy doing. That being said, I've improved quite a bit since I last worked on Janus, specifically with regards to editing and compositing. The more I think about it the more I realize I will likely have to overhaul the editing in that project, both for consistency and ease going forward. This is going to be a lot of work--Janus is over 6 minutes long--in addition to the animation that still needs to be finished. 

I want you to know I'm still very much attached to the story. At times I've found myself reimagining the story as a comic, but this is not something I can promise. That being said, I need to consider if this is a project worth continuing. Janus was my SGA--my senior animation in college--and a large part of why I was continuing to work on it was to fuel my portfolio...something I can now do with animation memes. 

So, to keep it short, by the end of the year I will have an answer on whether or not I will be continuing work on Janus. If I choose to abandon it I will make the full thing available to patrons (yes, WIP and all). It's the least I can do to repay you for your support throughout its production 💖

As for Garden of the Nexus, last year my plan was to start posting by Nov 2021. That's obviously not going to happen lol. However, I do want to foster more interest in the characters and story through animation memes so that is where my focus lies at the moment. I will likely need to push off publishing the first chapter until Nov 2022, but lets play it by ear! I still have a lot planned for this story and I'm very excited to share it with you!!
