2025-09-23 12:15:56 +0000 UTCAlright, since y’all made it to Impel Down and they mentioned Shiki, I can tell you this: There’s something called Episode 0, which is an OVA based on Chapter 0. It shows some events that happened 23 years ago and introduces Shiki. It’s canon, since Oda himself wrote. Oda made that chapter as a lead-in to Strong World, a movie about Shiki and the crew. It was the first movie Oda actually wrote himself, while the other movies only had minor input from him. Now, the actual meeting between Shiki and the crew in the movie isn’t canon, but Shiki’s character and interactions are. So basically, you can still get a real sense of who Shiki is from the movie. Episode 0 is important—you really should watch it. And if later on you wanna start the movies, you can begin with Strong World.
