WIP: MECHANIC ADEPT ELECTROMANCERS (PIN-UP)

In the dimly-lit corridors of the Mechanicum's secret workshops, the latest creation of the Mechanic Adepts stirs, a testament to the sublime artistry and fearsome power of the Electromancers. Today, I am thrilled to share with you a glimpse into the work-in-progress of our newest set, showcasing the pin-up female Mechanic Adept Electromancers.

These figures, caught in the midst of their sacred creation, stand as a bold symbol of the unity between flesh and machine. Their forms, unadorned yet powerful, represent the purity of their commitment to the Mechanicum's cause. Each Electromancer is a masterpiece of biomechanical engineering, their bodies seamlessly integrated with intricate cybernetics and conduits of raw energy.

The choice for the Electromancers to be half-naked is not merely aesthetic, but deeply symbolic. It speaks to their unshakable confidence and their acceptance of flesh as a transient, vulnerable medium. These women, in their unadorned state, proclaim that fear has no hold over them. They acknowledge the inherent fragility of flesh, yet they do not seek to hide it. Instead, they wear their vulnerabilities as armor, a testament to their strength and resilience.

As we continue to work on this set, refining every wire, every circuit, every glance of these formidable women, we do so with a sense of sacred duty, knowing that each stroke of the brush brings us closer to capturing the essence of the Electromancers. Stay tuned for more updates as we bring these awe-inspiring figures to their full, electrifying glory.

When it comes to the theme of the miniature or the setting that the minature will be used in should be taken into account. If it was for an army of knights then a skimpy female would not be appropriate but if it was for a dark cult then it would be. There are some ranges out there which do border on the darker sides of history and show this in some of there models. This is not a bad thing as it allows people to collect the minatures that they want. It is not anyones responsibility to tell others what they can collect, they can only control the collection that they collect. Also to claim that there is no models out there that sexualise the male anatomy means that you haven't looked around enough as they do exist. How I view it is that you can't control what others do, you can choose if you play against such an army thought.

Don't you mfs ever get sick of complaining?

C

There are some out there that make males the victims and I collect them also as slaanesh cares not for the appearance of the followers/sacrifices only that they enjoy the show

Russell Blaik

Slaanesh collector here so any corruption of minis is a good thing 😉

Russell Blaik

Oh no. You're giving them ideas! Stop! You know how much they their Orks!

Okay, I agree with you on that, and I am very sympathetic. I often find it disgusting and I can't even look at this overtly submissive depiction of women. The thing is...this isn't depicting that. These are women warriors who are dressed the same way as their male counterparts that you can buy from GW. They're also posed the same way as the "regular" version you can buy from WGE. The concern you're voicing is a real issue and while normally I'd be down to talk about it, this isn't really the place for it. It's tangentially related, but this ain't it. Also, slight nitpick, (so feel free to ignore it) but I really hate comparing a woman's chest to male genitals. I get the purpose of it and it demonstrates the point, but it's just such an apples-to-oranges comparison because boobs are, by definition, not genitals.

Whissia

If there's one thing that represents the "very problematic way we view women and their bodies" then look no further than the obsession that many miniature designers have for female figures with exaggerated and overtly sexualised anatomy. Do these same designers produce work that treats male bodies in the same way? Do you see male figures with overly large pubic bulges or exposed cartoonish genitals? No, you don't. Often it goes well beyond anatomy, there's widespread portrayal of female subjugation in the miniature world with (barely clothed) women being portrayed as the victims of torture, captivity and domination. Thankfully W.E. doesn't venture into those murky waters. I'm not suggesting that designers shouldn't produce this stuff, I'm simply pointing out the pervasive double standards in fantasy art. Surely this can be questioned. Why is it women who are predominantly shown as victims or sexually objectified? Doesn't the volume of these representations say more about the psychology of men than it does about women. I can assure you that I have no 'attitude' where female nudity is concerned, the suggestion that any concerns voiced in regard to the subject (male objectification of women in miniature design) can be symptomatic of an 'attitude to female nudity' is disingenuous, offensive, and redolent of the historic dismissal of women as 'hysterical'.

They are not orks 😁 hm... orks with breasts...

Wargame Exclusive

is it just me or should there be a leader with larger breast...... bigger = boss.... more processing power

Russell Blaik

Praise the Omnisiah because the flesh is weak.

Also, I kinda wanted to add that not everyone has the same attitude to "female nudity." Not everyone sees bare breasts as just "teenage fixations," and some would even say that calling it that betrays a very problematic way we view women and their bodies. I'm not saying you're wrong to think or feel the way you do. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs. I am asking for more consideration and a little less inflammatory wording.

Whissia

Finally! Our prayers have been answered! Thank you!

Whissia

All good.. I more complain that there is no corrupted version of them lol

Russell Blaik

Apologies. I didn't know there was already a normal version, I have no objection as long as the choice is available.

The Dour Kin

They already have the normal version up. Why are you against a pinup version of a model? If you don't like it don't print it, just stop complaining that other options exist for others that like to have some pinup models. Also it allows people to print it out and file off the nipples to make a bodysuit instead.

Russell Blaik

Why does she need to have her breasts on display? Can't you dial back on the teenage fixations?
