Update - Well...Fuck
Added 2018-11-19 05:18:49 +0000 UTCSo, I didn't get all that much done over the weekend...and the reason for that is why I titled the post 'Well...Fuck.' Don't worry, for those of you who actually pay attention, my graphics card hasn't crapped out on me yet. That's the relatively good news...
The bad news, unfortunately, is pretty bad. Because last month's update was almost 100% new assets, I hadn't taken stock yet of just how much had been lost with the hard drive that died. It turns out, much to my chagrin, that it was much worse than I originally thought. I had, without realizing it, only been backing up about 50% of the scene files (something to do to them having been split into two sub folders for organization reasons). Which means that...I've completely lost access to rendering about 50% of the game's existing locations. Including the Stables, as it happens.
Which means no pony-content for Naomi, as I'd have to rebuild based on painstakingly dissecting and guessing at what I'd done from the images in the game. And I, simply put, don't have the time or energy to do that kind of reconstruction just for a single scene in a single update.
Thankfully, more by sheer luck than anything, I have a usable version of Naomi's Apartment scene (missing a view images for paintings and such, but it's nothing I can't work around), so the other two new scenes I had planned can move forward (I've already started renders on one of them). I just need to figure out what to replaced the pony content I was going to add with.
So...my progress update is basically... 'Well...fuck.'
