Luci is scared that his father put Chloe in danger with the bomb because he, Luci. was trying to 'stick it to his dad' by helping Cain. He spent a lot of time this episode trying to make Chloe seem of no importance to him so that in his eyes, God would leave her alone and not exact revenge. Of course, with everything going on, we only know what the characters think God wants and think what God is doing... no one really knows... Don't worry about Pierce/cain's new plan that Amenadiel may have planted in his head- all will be revealed... and so it begins...

The self sabotage downwards spiral has officially begun, it's going to get way worse before it gets better. Maze's downward spiral will continue as well and we will eventually understand why but not right away. We're entering the final stretch of the season, drama will start to crank up, especially episodes 20 to 24 but 18 and 19 are setting the table. Your commentary about Cain's view of his future growing old with Abel after mending their relationship is not far from the truth, except it won't be with Abel. Abel's part of the story is definitely over. Cain is now aiming for Chloe's affection which will lead to very cringy moments unless you're rooting for Cain, which I'm not. I hate this character which led to rather hilarious moments when I first met Tom Welling LOL
