✨Feeling unhappy about your art (or really anything) lately? take a break and draw a cute cat! That’s what I did last night. 🌙
Psd, sketch, lineart coloring page, timelapse will be in Art Pack 33!
❕open real-talk time (tldr: I have art block so I drew a cat)
The last couple weeks have felt not so great for me. Nothing bad has happened at all, it’s just that my mood, energy and satisfaction has been in the dumps for some reason. I have a couple artworks close to done but it has been a struggle to push to the finish line and feel happy with the direction of my artwork. .
None of this is new of course. I think most artists go through ups and downs and I’ll make it out of whatever this slump is. Hopefully better on the other side. .
Because of how I have been feeling lately, I have been kind of avoiding social media. I still read your encouraging comments and everything and suuuuuper appreciate all your support. You guys are really amazing and a light in the darkness. .
It’s just that I haven’t been satisfied enough to share everything I’m working on and I have been kind of avoiding looking at too much other artwork. It can be inspiring to see all the amazing work that is being shared every second, but can also become really overwhelming for me sometimes. .
All that being said, I’m a big believer in just buckling down and pushing through. I get asked all the time what keeps me motivated to draw or what to do to get passed art block. Well, here is my main tip: take a small break if you need to and after that you just gotta grit your teeth and push through sometimes. Draw. Anything. Get SOMETHING done. It can be something as simple as a cute watercolor
