I talk about patience regarding individual art pieces and how long they take as well as the art journey overall and tackling that frustration that we often feel.

YW! I totally agree. It can be so easy to get caught up in taking that rollercoaster too seriously and it can be really demotivating. But having a little more perspective sometimes can help! Glad you liked the little talk!

I really, really, r e a l l y needed to hear this, especially the parts about how Instagram can and DOES distort ones perception about other artists’ productivity. I drew constantly ever since I was little until I graduated high school, then I moved countries and didn’t draw a single thing for 8 years 😔!! I have a lot of regret about this and I can’t stop wondering where I could of been with my art now. I feel like I have a lot of “catching up” to do and constantly put myself under a lot of self-made pressure. Anyway, I know you can’t change the past but it’s hard not to think about where one could be if one made different choices. I’m trying to tell myself everyday to just relax and enjoy the fact that I’m doing art again, learning new skills, and have found my true passion in life 💕 it’s a mental journey as well as an art one, and finding peace in both is always going to be the challenge.

It is necessary to be cool about the art journey stuff, because there will be ups and downs and being too serious about it can really cause some harm! Much love is needed to go through all the hardship of learning a skill! Bravo again!

I wish I could say there's a day when that cycle doesn't keep happening but I guess it is called a cycle for a reason! haha. But at least knowing about it puts those feelings in perspective!

I forgot about the eye-ability Gap, that's really frustrating lol Right now I decided to learn the básica and I felt relaxing practicing some shadows on a sphere, I loved that bc sometimes I felt like I was hating the art process and that's not true, I was just frustrated, hearing this made all the sense to me, thanks!

2021-06-06 17:24:21 +0000 UTCChrissa Is absolutely right about taking breaks during our art journey. Taking the night off to do something not related to my art has always helped me when I'm stuck. OR usually when I'm doing yard work, going for a walk when my wife forces me (haha), binge Netflix, or even taking a moment away to shower brings out my "spark" of creativity. Hugs sensei Chrissa, I love your freaking guts!!!!
