Added 2021-06-25 14:44:38 +0000 UTCBefore she was stolen by Hades, Persephone was called Kore, which simply means 'maiden'. She was the daughter of Zeus and Demeter, and was the goddess of spring's bounty.
We don't really know all that much about what Persephone was like before she was abducted to the underworld, but I think it is safe to speculate that since her mother seemed quite protective, maybe even over-protective, she would have been pretty sheltered and naïve.
For this version of Persephone, I really wanted to depict her appearing much more cute and innocent... perhaps a little unsure and not fully understanding the amount of power she carries within her. So she is surrounded by a lush plants (no skulls! lol) and her antlers are much smaller and more closely resemble the antlers of a young deer.
AND guess what you guys?! We reached 400 supporters this month! I'm absolutely blown away! One reason I have been pushing really hard to get this version done this month is because I have a very special plan to celebrate with July's prints!
