Added 2022-03-28 11:47:10 +0000 UTCThe Morrígan, also known as Morrígu, is a figure from Irish Mythology. The name is Mór-Ríoghain in Modern Irish, and it has been translated as "great queen" or "phantom queen".
The Morrígan is mainly associated with war and fate, especially with foretelling doom, death, or victory in battle. In this role she often appears as a crow. She incites warriors to battle and can help bring about victory over their enemies.
Like I have mentioned before, one of my favorite things about doing this goddess series is learning more about the mythology of each figure that I work on. I wasn't very familiar with Morrigan before this piece but omg! She is so dang cool and scary! Haha. One of those figures that is incredibly powerful and good to have on your side, but don't get on her bad side, or your fate will be sealed.
I hope you guys like how she came out! I'm going to need to put up a new goddess poll for the next few goddesses we do, so if you have any in particular that you would like me to include on the next poll please comment and let me know!!
