Rough Ink Challenge

Welcome to an inky challenge! (because I am terrible at being on the same inktober schedule as the rest of the internet! Yeah!! We're on our own calendar pals!)
For this challenge I want you to grab a rough inking brush to practice making some rough ink artwork!
The CSP Brush I used for these examples is attached to the bottom of the post!
Level 1 can include thinner lines and HATCHING to indicate some shadows and detail. This style may look a little more delicate. The hatching can follow the contour of the features.
Level 2 is all about being bold and color BLOCKING. There should be no or very minimal gradation between the shadow and the light. This look can be very harsh but it is a really good way to practice simplifying the shapes that shadows make!
If you need some inspiration, I recommend looking at harsh portrait lighting reference. mike mignola is also an amazing comic artist to look at for inspiration around this technique!
