Swim With Me//Timelapse Video

Here is a full Time-lapse Video w/music for the  piece: You Gonna Swim With Me?

What is there to say about this piece other then I wanted to draw a cute and sexy Mist?  haha  You'll notice that the sketches start out especially rough for this one.  I'm really not practiced at drawing characters leaning over like this so I used some 3d model reference part way through.  It is a handy feature in clip studio paint that I don't typically use for full characters, but every once and a while it can be good for an especially tricky pose.  Not that leaning over poses are all that tricky, I just need to draw them more often!

So this piece did start out as NSFW ish.  But then I was just really not liking how it was going, so I decided to make it only teasingly sensual by keeping only a bathing suit version.  We can do other NSFW mist art some other time.

Anyway, she is always fun to draw and this piece made me kind of want to do a sheet of full body drawings of her like this, maybe in modern clothes, even though the world she exists in is very much high fantasy.  Modern AU is always fun with fantasy characters.

Oh really? I guess it all depends on what your intention is. If your purpose is study and learning then, yeah tracing a model will probably not help as much as looking at reference and trying to freehand draw it. But if your purpose is just working on an illustration and you aren't as concerned about learning for that particular piece then I think it is fine to use all the tools at your disposal, including the model function. Tracing is actually extremely common in the professional illustration world.

I've met a lot of people that say using clips model function is bad. I've had so many problems I've ended up not doing from struggling with poses. Do you think it's good to use when struggling a lot?
