The fae of the woods sat at the base of a tree, her long black hair trailing down her back and tangling into the gnarled branches and roots. The air was still, but a familiar flap of wings brushed the tip of her ear. She raised her hand, and the raven settled on the outstretched perch of her arm.
"The veil is thin, and someone is coming," she whispered, her voice carrying on the wind like a haunting melody. She called forth the ancient magic of the forest, and a sense of unease hung in the air. The fae woman remained still, her eyes white with magic, as she awaited the arrival of the unknown visitor.
Hello, lovelies! Here is a mystical digital watercolor piece that I started on stream a few weeks ago. It's a fairly simple piece, but I did run into some anatomy issues that made it take longer than I expected. You may notice that I even had to use the "hiding the hand" trick!
If you watch the time-lapse, you'll see that I tried putting the hand in a few places, but she just balanced out the best with having that arm stretched down behind the tree. So, it is what it is! Anyway, this piece was really fun to create. Working in this style and relying on textured watercolor brushes is always so satisfying to me. The process of painting and seeing those watercolor edges come to life is really enjoyable.
Thank you for all of your support this month, and I hope you like her!
OH! And I'll see you guys on twitch later today! 7pm CET Twitch.tv/chrissabug
