🎬Speedpaint//Fate Slayer

Hello my lovelies!  Here is the time-lapse speedpaint🖌️ with music for : Fate Slayer 🗡️

A little about the Process:

I didn't have much of a plan when I started this piece other than I knew I wanted to draw another female character in armor with a sword!  I also started this piece knowing that I would be working on it live on stream, so I wanted it to be somewhat "chill."

I struggled a little with the pose in the lower half of her body.  I really liked the upper half so I didn't want to change that too much, but trying to figure out what how her legs were positioned took a couple tries even though you can barely see her legs.

Let's talk about her hair!

Her hair was so fun to do and because it is very curly, I approached it a bit differently then when I draw straight or wavy hair.  Instead of relying on lineart, I found it better to paint the whole shape of the hair with color  and then use a rough and "hairy" brush to layer on the shadows and highlights.

What about the color scheme?

Well, if you pay attention, you can see that the color scheme is leaning into those primary colors (red yellow and blue), BUT, they aren't at full saturation, otherwise they start looking like a kindergarten.  The most saturated of the color scheme is the RED, with the blue and the yellows being much more desaturated.

I hope you guys like how she turned out!

I've been pushing this past week to finish up a rush illustration project for a game studio that I should be able to share with you very soon!  The character they had me illustrate was right up my alley, and I think you guys will like her!  Anyhoo!  Back to work for me!
