Hello, my lovelies! Here is the finished piece that I worked on live on Twitch last Saturday. This piece started without a plan. I've been struggling a bit with some burnout lately with everything going on and was struggling to think up an idea that I was excited about. When that happens, I sometimes just have to let myself start drawing with no plan at all. Give myself permission to just see what comes out!
When I work like this, the story of the piece kind of comes together as I work. It is almost as if I'm discovering it in real time as I work.
Anyway, with her holding a knife, but not actually cutting anything, I thought of a witch's athame. They are ritual knives that are meant for more channeling or cutting energy.
I feel like the black background mixed with her monochrome pale colors feel like she could be in the spirit realm or void. Maybe in the physical world she is performing a ritual, but the real activity is happening inside her mind or wherever her spirit goes while she is in trance.
